As Senior Policy Officer, you will help shape and deliver this high‑impact cross-sector programme — ensuring the Academy convenes the right people, on the right issues, at the right time. In the next year, policy areas you will work on may include prevention and early detection, using clinical evidence to speed up translation from discovery to patient impact, inclusion of underrepresented groups in research, and the use of AI and data across biomedical sciences.
You will lead delivery of a portfolio of policy meetings and workshops, produce influential outputs, and manage relationships across the FORUM network. You will use evidence, stakeholder insight and sound judgement to support decisions about where the Academy should focus its convening power, helping us maximise our impact while maintaining the high standards and values that underpin our work.

Innovation and Development
As we continue our exciting growth plans to deliver on our ambitious goals and refreshed strategy at Fair4All Finance, following additional funding from the Dormant Assets Scheme, we are seeking an Associate Director Commercial to join our Innovation and Development Team.
The role involves delivering a portfolio of work which includes completing, negotiating and managing innovative product pilots with commercial and mainstream financial providers, Fintech providers and not for profit community lenders; supporting programmes and transactions on our technology workstream; considering ad hoc strategic opportunities for market interventions and transformations.
Role Purpose:

Millions of people are unable to access the mainstream products and services that meet their financial needs and have to choose between going without essentials or turning to high-cost credit or illegal money lenders. Without safety nets like credit, insurance or savings, everyday life events or financial shocks can tip people into increasingly vulnerable circumstances.
One of Fair4All Finance’s key strategic priorities, and a focus of the Innovation and Development team, is to transform the market, to test and deliver the right products to all customers who need them including dramatically improving access to credit, insurance and resilience products by attracting new entrants, scaling existing providers and supporting mainstream providers to diversify their offerings.
A key part of our strategy is to test and scale product propositions, working in partnership with providers, and, where successful, to scale these propositions up for long term success. We do this by codesigning propositions that work for the customer, commercial arrangements that work for the provider, societal outcomes that deliver for the funders and stakeholders.
The Associate Director – Commercial will lead on the commercial lifecycle of proposition tests, meeting potential partners and developing a pipeline of opportunities through to procurement (where appropriate) or running a transparent competition via a subsidy scheme, bid assessment, contract negotiation with significant providers of lending, insurance and savings products. You will work with those providers to oversee the successful setup and delivery including building in how we measure the success of the pilot or proposition and evaluate the impact.
Also key to the role is liaising with the Head of Proposition, Design and Development to design end to end products that meet the needs of people in financially vulnerable circumstances. Strong collaboration with other members of the team is also essential to build the evidence base (economic, value for money and societal impact) which you will then build into business cases for long term funding for these propositions, or alternative financial support. You will work flexibly across our portfolio of partnerships and propositions as it develops.

Role:

We are seeking an experienced freelance Communications and Marketing Officer to lead and deliver our communications and marketing activity on a flexible, part-time basis.
Role Purpose
The Communications and Marketing Officer will manage the organisation’s communications channels and marketing activity, ensuring consistent, high-quality content that engages existing and potential new members, promotes activities, and enhances the organisation’s profile. This is a hands-on role requiring strong writing skills, digital marketing experience and coordination of print production and is supported by the organisation’s administrative assistant.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Digital Marketing
Plan, create, and schedule engaging content across social media platforms.
Develop and manage a content calendar aligned with organisational priorities.
Design and deliver paid social media advertising campaigns to promote membership, events, and key initiatives.
Monitor performance metrics (engagement, reach, conversions) and optimise campaigns accordingly.
Maintain brand consistency across all digital channels.
Advertising (Digital & Print)
Plan and coordinate advertising campaigns across social media and relevant print publications.
Liaise with external publications and media partners to book and supply advertising content.
Create advertising copy and visuals.
Track effectiveness of advertising activity where possible.
Newsletters & Member Communications
Coordinate creation and distribution of regular member newsletters, compiling content created by the volunteer editorial team and ensuring layouts are engaging and in line with brand guidelines
Ensure all events are advertised effectively to members via email, alongside social media campaigns
Manage email marketing platform and mailing lists (ensuring GDPR compliance).
Monitor open rates and engagement, making recommendations for improvement.
Annual Printed Magazine & Online Peer Review Publication
Coordinate the production of the organisation’s annual printed magazine including compiling content created by the volunteer editorial team, developing layouts and liaising with printers to sign-off of proofs and timely delivery to members
Coordinate the production of the Voices of AOTOS online peer review publication (currently in development) including compiling content created by the volunteer editorial team, developing layouts and publishing online
Coordination of advertising content within publications, with support from the Operations Manager
Liaise with contributors, advertisers, and printers to ensure timelines are met.
Website Content
Maintain and update website content via CMS (wordpress).
Draft news articles, announcements, and promotional copy as required.
Population of member resources and other materials provided by the volunteer editorial team
Ensure consistency of tone, messaging, and visual identity across all communications.
Budgeting and Reporting
Develop an annual budget proposal for marketing and communications activities for board approval and monitor activities against approved budgets.
Provide regular updates to the board/leadership on communications activity and performance.
Person Specification
Essential
Demonstrable experience in communications and marketing, ideally in a membership or not-for-profit setting.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Experience managing social media channels and paid advertising campaigns.
Basic design skills (e.g., Canva or Adobe).
Experience of budget development and management.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage production timelines.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities within limited hours.
Understanding of data protection and GDPR
Desirable
Understanding of the arts education landscape and supporter of the sector.
Experience working with designers and printers.
Experience with CRM or email marketing systems.
