We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.
Together with our partners, we support over 15,000 young people each year.
The Policy and Research team at Centrepoint provides the evidence base for the organisation’s policy and influencing work, using research, data and the experiences of young people to understand the causes and scale of youth homelessness and identify effective solutions. The team leads research across a range of policy areas, produces Centrepoint’s Youth Homelessness Databank, analyses national and local data, and translates findings into clear policy recommendations. It also supports external influencing, engaging with Government, Parliament, local authorities and other organisations to ensure evidence is used to shape policy and improve outcomes for young people.

For most full-time colleagues, this means attending the office for five days over a two-week period (e.g., two days one week and three days the next). For colleagues on different contracts (including part-time or compressed contracts) this will be adjusted accordingly.
About you
- Effective communicator with natural ability to facilitate open and honest conversations.
- Able decision maker with a can do attitude.
- Respectful and empathetic, always considering the impact on our young people.
- Flexible, always adapting to changing needs.

This includes managing the Youth Homelessness Databank project, ensuring it remains the most comprehensive source of youth homelessness data in the UK and continues to meet the strategic needs of the organisation.
- To work with Centrepoint staff and young people to shape Centrepoint’s policy messages and further Centrepoint’s mission to end youth homelessness. To build strategic relationships with key policy makers and relevant voluntary organisations needed to influence government policy.
Why join Centrepoint?
In return for your efforts, you’ll receive a competitive salary, excellent training and development, and a host of staff benefits including:
- 25 days of annual leave per year, rising by one day per year to a maximum of 27 days

We are passionate about ensuring all of our colleagues are made to feel included in the work we do and that we value the rich diversity within the organization.
We are an equal opportunities employer and we welcome applications regardless of sex, gender, race, age, belief in any religion and none, gender identity, ethnic origin, class, sexuality, nationality, appearance, unrelated criminal activities, disability, responsibility for dependents, part time or shift workers, being HIV positive or living with AIDS, lived experience of homelessness or using young people’s services and any other matter which causes a person to be treated with injustice.

This is a unique opportunity to lead fundraising for a charity at the cusp of substantial growth, with an exceptional track record of recent fundraising success, an engaged base of supporters and significant untapped potential across multiple channels.
Overview
As Director of Fundraising and Development for Plum Village UK, you will provide strategic leadership of the charity’s fundraising at this critical juncture. Building on the successful campaigns that brought our new Being Peace Practice Centre into being, you will lead the development of a sustainable, diversified fundraising operation across donor stewardship, trusts and foundations, regular giving, legacies, and partnerships, to deepen relationships of trust and gratitude with our supporters.
This role is ideal for a fundraising leader, whether from a career fundraising background or another field, who brings strategic capability alongside deep alignment with the Plum Village tradition, where fundraising itself becomes a form of engaged practice in service of mindfulness and community transformation.
Fundraising in the Plum Village tradition is fundamentally relational. It is not a matter of extracting income from a base of supporters, but of deepening the relationships of trust, gratitude and shared purpose with those who make our work possible, in ways that embody the values of the tradition. Done well, fundraising is itself a form of engaged practice. The Director will be expected to lead the function in this spirit.
The role comes with a high level of strategic ownership. An initial fundraising strategy has been developed and shared with trustees, providing a framework of priority channels, governance arrangements and resourcing for the next phase. The new Director will inherit this as a starting frame, and will then be empowered and expected to develop, refine and bring forward a fundraising strategy on their own authority, working closely with the Lead Trustee for Fundraising and presenting proposals to the board as appropriate. The role also carries operational ownership of the fundraising mechanics, including the choice and management of supporting systems, databases and tools.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic leadership of fundraising
-
Lead PVUK's fundraising strategy, developing and refining the strategic direction, and presenting proposals to the Board for approval and resourcing.
-
Set, monitor, and report on fundraising targets across all income channels, in agreement with the Lead Trustee for Fundraising and the Board.
-
Provide regular substantive updates on fundraising at quarterly board meetings, working with the Lead Trustee on the preparation of board-level reporting.
-
Bring forward analysis and proposals to support the Board in setting wider strategic priorities, including realistic income potential by channel and the investment required to secure it.
-
Identify and manage risk in the fundraising portfolio, including channel concentration, donor over-reliance, and the sustainability of resourcing.
Donor stewardship and relationship development
-
Lead the stewardship of PVUK’s existing donors, lenders, and supporters with the depth of care that this base deserves, recognising it as the most precious resource of the fundraising function.
-
Cultivate and deepen relationships with major donors, including through personal contact, site visits, and tailored communication of impact.
-
Work with the Chair of Trustees, the Centre Director, and other senior figures on key relationships that require their involvement.
-
Steward the friendly lender base throughout the lifetime of their loans, maintaining trust and keeping them informed of the charity’s progress.
-
Build and maintain a culture of gratitude and recognition that appropriately honours the contributions of all supporters.
Income channel development
-
Lead delivery and growth across PVUK’s priority fundraising channels: donor stewardship, trust and foundation fundraising, regular giving, legacies and Gifts in Wills, and partnerships with values-aligned organisations and networks.
-
Develop trust and foundation fundraising as a substantial new income stream, including scoping aligned funders, building peer-to-peer introductions, constructing tailored funding propositions, and overseeing high-quality application writing and reporting.
-
Design and grow a regular giving programme that converts members, retreatants and supporters into ongoing monthly donors.
-
Develop a structured legacy and Gifts in Wills programme that normalises legacy giving across PVUK’s communications and supports those who wish to leave a Gift in their Will.
-
Develop partnerships with values-aligned organisations and networks where these support both income generation and the wider reach of PVUK’s work, in close consultation with monastics and trustees.
Operations, systems and budget ownership
-
Own the operational mechanics of fundraising for PVUK, including the choice, configuration and ongoing management of databases, donor management systems, online giving platforms, and integration with communications tools.
-
Manage the fundraising budget, including a discretionary supplementary budget for consultancy, training, materials creation, contracted support and light administrative resource, deployed at the Director’s judgement to develop the function effectively.
-
Maintain accurate, GDPR-compliant supporter records and ensure sound data practices throughout the fundraising operation.
-
Provide accurate financial reporting on fundraising performance, working with PVUK’s finance function and external accountants as required.
-
Make the case for additional resourcing where evidence of need supports it, including the possible recruitment of a Fundraising Officer in due course.
Communications and storytelling
-
Lead the development of compelling fundraising narratives that authentically convey the work of PVUK and the Being Peace Centre to multiple audiences, including major donors, institutional funders, individual supporters and the wider public.
-
Work closely with the PVUK Communications team on the integration of fundraising communications with the wider communications strategy.
-
Commission and oversee the production of fundraising materials, including written content, graphic design, video and digital assets, drawing on contracted specialists where appropriate.
-
Ensure that all fundraising messaging about the Being Peace Practice Centre is agreed with the Centre Director before publication.
Working partnerships across PVUK
-
Work in close partnership with the Centre Director on all matters relating to Being Peace, with agreed ways of working on messaging, external representation, and any programming commitments made to funders.
-
Work with the Lead Trustee for Fundraising as primary day-to-day point of contact at board level, supporting the Lead Trustee to hold strategic oversight of fundraising on behalf of the Board.
-
Work with colleagues across PVUK’s communications, dharma programming, sangha-building and partnership functions, with these working relationships developing naturally in the first months of the role.
-
Draw on external advisors and specialists as needed for support and assurance, both in technical fundraising disciplines and in sector-specific knowledge.
-
Engage volunteer capacity from within the community where this can valuably supplement the fundraising operation.
We build mindful communities in the UK inspired by the teachings of ‘Father of Mindfulness’ Thich Nhat Hanh.

We are therefore seeking an exceptional Chief Executive who can provide visionary leadership, inspire confidence among stakeholders, strengthen strategic partnerships and ensure Escapeline continues to be at the forefront of protecting vulnerable children and young people.
Building on our strong foundations, we see significant opportunities to expand our reach and deepen our impact, particularly across Dorset and Wiltshire, where support for the charity remains strong and continues to grow. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the next chapter of our development, broadening our influence, diversifying income streams, enhancing our services and securing long-term sustainability.
While preventing the exploitation of children will always remain our core purpose, we are equally committed to supporting the wider impact that exploitation has on families. Our specialist helpline and parent support community provide a vital source of guidance, understanding and hope for families who often feel isolated and overlooked by traditional support services. We are determined to strengthen and expand this provision, ensuring that no family faces these challenges alone.
We are looking for a leader who combines strategic vision with emotional intelligence, commercial awareness with compassion, and ambition with an unwavering commitment to our values. You will lead a dedicated team, work alongside an engaged and supportive Board of Trustees, and build on a reputation that has been earned through years of trusted and impactful work.
Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting difference to the lives of children, young people and families at a time when that difference is urgently needed.
If you are inspired by our mission and share our ambition to create safer futures for children and young people, we would be delighted to hear from you.

- Commercial acumen: Strong understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives and philanthropic giving.
- Working style: Highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and capable of working independently in a remote/hybrid environment while contributing to a friendly team culture.

About Us
Forever Young People CIC delivers relationship-led community programmes across Hertfordshire, currently anchored by our community youth projects and our Dot to Dot mum and baby group. We're part of the wider Forever Young People family, which has spent years building trust-based, relationship-first work with young people and families across the county.
We're at a turning point: our CIC has a real track record and real potential, but no one whose full-time job it is to lead it. That's where you come in.
The Role
We're looking for someone to take genuine ownership of the CIC — its strategy, its funding, and its future programmes — reporting directly to our CEO. You'll line-manage our Trusts & Foundations fundraising consultant, decide which funding opportunities to pursue, and build the relationships and programmes that take the CIC beyond what we've already started.
This isn't a role where you'll be handed a finished playbook. It's a role for someone who wants to build one.
You'll:
- Set the CIC's strategic direction, in partnership with our CEO
- Own our funding pipeline and manage our fundraising consultant
- Spot and develop new community programmes rooted in genuine local need
- Support our existing Programmes as they continue to grow
- Build the relationships — funders, partners, commissioners — that the CIC's future depends on
About You
You don't need to have done exactly this job before — but you do need to have done something like it. You're someone who can set a strategy and still get your hands dirty. You've probably managed a freelancer or consultant before. You've built relationships with funders or partners when resources were tight, not abundant. And most importantly, you actually want to build something — not just keep an existing programme ticking over.
Experience with trusts and foundations fundraising, youth or family support work, or a background moving from a founder-led organisation toward distributed leadership would all be a bonus, though none are essential.
The Details
- Hours: 3 days/week to start, with planned growth in days as the CIC's income and pipeline grow
- Salary: £26,000–£30,000 FTE, pro-rata for 3 days/week, depending on experience
- Reports to: CEO, Ashley Howard
- Manages: Trusts & Foundations Fundraising Consultant; future CIC staff as the team grows
- Contract: Senior staff role — not a statutory company director
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

We help people stay active, enjoy friendship and creativity, reduce isolation, and feel included, valued and respected.
We are now seeking an enthusiastic and well-organised Administrator to help strengthen our day-to-day administration, records and communications, enabling us to continue to provide an effective and responsive service.

You will also support communications activity, including social media updates, newsletters and promotional materials. You will not be expected to be a specialist in every system from day one; training and support will be provided where needed.

As our Administrator, you will:
- Provide reliable day-to-day administrative support to the Charity Manager, staff, volunteers and trustees.
- Manage correspondence, including telephone calls, emails and written communications, ensuring enquiries are addressed or forwarded appropriately.
- Support bookings and administration for coach trips, narrowboat trips and other activities as required.
- Attend meetings when required and provide administrative support, such as preparing papers, taking notes, or following up on agreed actions.
- Maintain accurate membership, CRM and contact records, ensuring information is complete, up to date and securely handled.
- Record feedback from activities, comment sheets, and comment books, and share relevant information with colleagues where follow-up is required.
- Help keep the charity's social media, newsletters and promotional materials up to date by using agreed messages and brand guidelines.
- Support the development of stories, photographs, updates and case studies that explain the difference Dementia Together Wirral makes, ensuring appropriate consent is obtained.
- Work flexibly with colleagues to support members, volunteers and continuity of services during busy periods, annual leave or sickness.
Person specification
Essential
- Experience in an administrative, coordination, customer service, office support, or similar role, or strong transferable organisational skills.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and complete tasks accurately and on time.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a friendly and professional approach.
- Good attention to detail and confidence in maintaining accurate records and information.
- Confidence with email, Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365, and willingness to learn other digital systems used by the charity.
- A practical, flexible and hands-on approach suited to working in a small charity.
- A commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding, inclusive practice, and respectful support for people living with dementia, carers, volunteers, and supporters.
Desirable
- Experience of working or volunteering with a charity, community organisation or small team.
- Experience of using a CRM, database, or membership system, or digital tools such as Canva, Mailchimp, or SharePoint.
- Experience of supporting social media, newsletters or other communications activities.
- An understanding of dementia, unpaid caring, or community-based support services, or a willingness to learn.
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to make a real and visible difference to a small but growing charity with strong local roots. Through your administrative and communications support, you will help us reach more people, raise awareness of our services, and showcase the difference we make to people affected by dementia.
You will be joining at an important stage in our development, with the opportunity to help shape how we communicate with our community, strengthen our brand and develop our digital presence. You will have the freedom to bring ideas, creativity and initiative to how we promote our work and engage with members, supporters, volunteers and the wider community.
