We are now recruiting for a Lead Coach in Islington - an outstanding opportunity to work as part of a local church to deliver the Spear Programme.

You’ll be working with the local church to manage the delivery of Resurgo's award-winning Spear Programme. Over the last 20 years, Spear has supported more than 11,000 young people across the UK with the work-ready skills and mindset they need to succeed in employment, no matter the challenges they face. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.

Delivery of Spear Programme - Group and 1:1 coaching [60%]

• Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme.
• Building relationships with young people on the programme and managing culture, and attitudes in the training room.
• Adapting the Spear coaching material according to the needs of the Trainees and managing behaviour effectively.

Delivery of Spear Career [20%]

• Delivering weekly Spear Career sessions (including running workshops with past Trainees), maintaining records and reporting on statistics, and creatively developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees.

Training the Asssistant Coach [10%]

• Contributing towards the training and developing of the Assistant Coach by modelling excellent coaching and giving regular feedback.

Trainee recruitment [10%]

• Developing relationships with Job Centres and local referral agencies to ensure that the maximum number of Spear Trainees are enrolled on each programme. This involves liaising with referral agencies, active face-to-face recruitment and monitoring recruitment statistics.

Continuous professional development

• Continually engaging in professional development, including being part of Resurgo’s wider coaching programmes and supporting the Church Partnerships Managers with overall team training and development.

Personal qualities we're looking for:

• An active Christian, passionate about personally representing the values and beliefs of Resurgo and the partner church
• You have demonstrable experience as a coach, or a background in youth work or teaching, and are keen to develop these skills further

Supporter Experience Officer

LimeCulture is at the forefront of supporting organisations to build safer, more inclusive cultures, and we recognise the vital role that HR practitioners play in this work.

We are seeking an experienced HR professional with a passion for developing and delivering impactful, trauma-informed training. The successful candidate will have experience supporting investigations into allegations of sexual misconduct and a strong understanding of how to prevent and respond to sexual harm within organisations. Experience of working in safeguarding or related fields would be an advantage.

As a Training and Consultancy Manager, you will lead the planning, development and delivery of high-quality, engaging training programmes that strengthen the knowledge and confidence of professionals and organisations to respond effectively to victims and survivors of sexual violence. You will also contribute to a range of consultancy projects, working with clients across the statutory, education, and corporate sectors,  including police forces, universities, health services, and private sector partners.

About the role

The Operations & Partnerships Team are responsible for ensuring that our internal (Kings
Camps) and external (UK and worldwide) programmes and services meet our customer and
client promises through effective delivery of our people, programmes and equipment. We
have a high level of responsibility and trust for the effective oversight of a large volume of
children, seasonal staff, and a national venue portfolio.

We're looking for a Programme & Training Lead who can take specific responsibility for our
programme delivery, ensuring 500+ seasonal staff across the UK are trained, equipped and
ready to start work with children. The Programme & Training Lead will be a practitioner
who contributes to training content, but also responds effectively to questions from
different stakeholders, responding to accidents, incidents and complaints, and who will
organise and deliver in-person promotional events. This role will need someone who is
ready to respond to last minute and unforeseen change and is open to a high level of UK
travel.

Key responsibilities

Plan

1. Work with the Operations Manager to agree programme outcome requirements per
season and per year
2. Schedule in-person programme delivery including people, programme content and
equipment
3. Plan for the delivery of pre-camp training
4. Schedule camp support visits
5. Create training schedules and content for programme personnel

Prepare

1. Work with the Operations Manager to prepare in-person programme and training
content
2. Produce and update resources for Kings Camps Managers and Red Tops
3. Work with warehouse personnel to prepare equipment for programmes and activities
if needed
4. Train and organise representatives to deliver initiatives across the UK
5. Share information both internally and externally regarding operational details and
practicalities such as facility information, children’s needs or any other information
pertinent to the running of camp

Deliver

1. Point of contact and support for newly-appointed Red Tops, providing information
and venue-specific guidance
2. Coordinate and deliver in-person and online training for programme personnel,
preparing them for their roles and responsibilities
3. Promote and run in-person activities and support to help launch new venues and
teams or drive growth in existing venues
4. Support Regional Managers to ensure programme audits are completed and work
with Camp Managers to ensure we maintain the service levels we promise
5. Share responsibility for performance management of Red Tops
6. Share responsibility for the response, management and reporting of programme
incidents, behaviour concerns, health and safety, and safeguarding

Person Specification

A qualification or background relating to teaching or sports coaching
At least 2 years’ activity programme experience, leading and delivering activities to
children
Previous experience of organising or hosting promotional events would be highly
advantageous
Training or experience in safeguarding children in a sports or education setting
Training and mentoring experience
Full UK driver’s licence (essential)

We need an experienced horticulture trainer to lead the training programme at our beautiful garden site in Tooting. We are looking for someone to lead, develop and deliver horticulture training programmes that aims to make sure our students enjoy greater independence and the chance to move closer to employment.

Main responsibilities 

• You’ll lead, develop, and deliver horticulture training to disabled adults ranging from entry level to level 2
• You’ll champion a strong work ethic in the garden, helping students achieve their qualifications and develop work-related skills, linking closely with our on-site social enterprise Share Nurseries, which grows and sells plants to the public 

• You will manage three members of the horticulture project, overseeing their projects and providing experience and supporting them 

• You’ll maintain student records, oversee the preparation of student portfolios for verification, and report on progress 

Who we’re looking for 

• You have occupational competence in Horticulture, ideally qualified to Level 3 or above 

• You have first-rate interpersonal skills, you’re able to communicate and relate to people from all backgrounds
• You’ve delivered horticulture training, and you’ve successfully organised and led a small team before
• You can enthuse and motivate people who may at times find learning challenging, with your patience, empathy, and understanding of autism and learning disabilities
• Most importantly, you’re committed to the inclusion of disabled people in all aspects of life 

A qualification in horticulture therapy would be an advantage, but a strong interest and passion for the healing power of plants is a must.

We train specialist dogs to detect the odour of human disease, providing life-saving alert assistance dogs to people with complex health problems across the UK and collaborating with NHS Trusts and other researchers and Universities both in the UK and internationally to advance the early diagnosis of disease.

JOB TITLE:                       Puppy Assistance Dog Trainer

LOCATION:Great Horwood, Buckinghamshire, MK17 0NP (Office-Based)

SALARY:£24,000 - £27,000 based on experience

JOB TYPE:Full-time permanent, with occasional evenings and weekends required

REPORTS TO:                   Head of Canine Supply, Training and Welfare

We are looking for someone with the skills, experience and passion to join our team of trainers. They will be responsible for approximately 20 puppies from the age of around 8 weeks through to approximately 16 months of age. Ensuring they receive the highest standard of socialisation and training, thereby maximising their chances of becoming a Medical Detection Dog.

Responsibilities

Training and Development of Puppies

• Take responsibility for a group of puppies allocated to socialisers living in your geographical area
• When required, take dogs home during the training period to ensure continuous development and reinforcement of training routines.
• Provide training that adheres to ADUK regulations and MDD quality standards in accordance with timescales and targets.
• To deliver effective training by holding puppy classes, 121’s and home visits with socialisers in your geographical area
• Conduct regular training sessions with assistance dog puppies in training in various environments to ensure they are confident and responsive in real-world settings
• To prepare the puppy to be a Medical Alert Assistance Dog, using positive reinforcement techniques to teach desired behaviours and modify unwanted behaviours
• Regularly monitor progress of the puppies in your area and provide detailed, evidenced feedback to the senior team within Dog Supply and training
• Support and assist when required with the potential matches for a particular assistance dog partnership.
• To successfully prepare the puppy to pass the relevant Assistance Dog assessments
• Where necessary, highlight to your line manager, any dogs that are not progressing sufficiently through the training programme

Socialiser Support

• Be the first point of contact for the socialisers in your area, which will include guidance, support and instruction to socialisers on effective work and training with their assistance dogs.
• Provide general health care advice within your core working hours.

Socialiser Recruitment

• When required, assist in the recruitment of new volunteer socialisers.
• When  required, to assess prospective new volunteer socialisers, including home, workplace, pet dog and children assessments.

Other

• Update the Harlequin CRM database in a timely fashion to ensure accurate and up to date training, veterinary and health records.
• Support the charity’s fundraising, communications and volunteering teams as required, specifically in relation to your area.
• Share best practice with colleagues across the charity.
• Other tasks or ad hoc duties agreed with your line manager required to ensure the successful running of the charity.

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience in training Assistance Dogs
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in dog training
• Basic theory of practical dog training
• Law in relation to dogs
• Knowledge of medical conditions relevant to puppies between 8 weeks and 2 years of age
• Dog and human psychology
• Health and safety implications of dog and socialiser handling
• Experience and understanding of ADUK, ADI regulations and MDD's internal quality standards

Skills and Abilities

Ability to demonstrate high quality judgement and a proven track record in relation to the following:

• Dog training matters including the analysis of temperaments, appropriate training methods and requirements necessary to maintain public perception in assistance dogs
• Solutions to training and behavioural problems
• Socialiser training including the ability to assess each person’s preferred learning style and adapt as appropriate your training approach, the specific programmes to be followed,
• Strong and clear teaching and instructing skills
• Ability to plan work, be organised and ensure that time is utilised effectively for yourself, colleagues and socialisers
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with a wide range of people internally and externally. This will include clients and their families, fosterers, other professional service providers, members of the public, the media, managers and other colleagues
• High level of IT literacy and report writing skills including experience of using Microsoft based programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and Power Point
