A bit about this role:

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you!

What can you expect to be doing?

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following:

• face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with fundraising events, attending supermarket collections and monitoring collection boxes.
• online fundraising – assisting with online appeals, increasing social media engagement to maximise funds raised.

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Join our amazing volunteer team to raise awareness of the issues affecting blind and partially sighted people in relation to sport. You will give talks in person or virtually, sharing your own story to improve understanding of sight loss to sports clubs, sporting venues and facilities and community groups. You’ll be making a real difference to people living with sight loss by helping to improve accessibility and inclusivity, creating a sporting world without barriers.

What you’ll be doing
1. Talks to sports and physical activity providers to support and encourage them to consider the needs of blind and partially sighted people by sharing your story to audiences, for example, local leisure centres, sporting venues and sports clubs.
2. Delivering talks to raise awareness of existing sporting and physical activity opportunities for blind and partially sighted people.
3. Representing RNIB as an Ambassador for the Community Connection service.

A Finance Assistant helps support the financial operations of the organisation. The core role typically includes assisting with bookkeeping, budgeting, and financial record-keeping, assisting with the preparation of year end, and producing a yearly review for the strategy day, along with attending monthly meetings and assisting in the updating of the board. All tasks under the guidance of a Treasurer. The purpose of the role is so the organisation can maintain accurate financial records, comply with regulations, and make informed decisions. It’s also a valuable learning opportunity for volunteers interested in finance, accounting.

What are the key responsibilities of this role?

This role will have the following duties, but are not limited to:

• Inputting financial data into spreadsheets Sage and Google Sheets

• Filing and organizing invoices, receipts, and bank statements

• Assisting with bank reconciliations

• Helping to prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports

• Supporting the preparation of annual budgets and audits

• Assisting with volunteer expense claims

• Maintaining confidentiality and handling data responsibly

What do we expect from a Finance Assistant?

Essential:

• Basic understanding of finance or accounting principles

How much commitment is required?

The role is flexible and can work around your current commitments.  On average it should take less than two hours per week.  A few things to note is that we ask you try to: 

• Attend the monthly meetings (held online for an average of 2 hours).

• Attend Hidayah’s Strategy Day (once a year) if the Treasurer is unable to

• Be available to catch up meetings with the treasurer and the chair of the charity.

• Work alongside the treasurer to keep accurate records, and check and respond to emails in a timely fashion.

CPD Accreditation Lead

Mast Cell Action is developing an Accredited Training Programme for healthcare professionals to increase understanding of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). We are seeking a skilled volunteer with experience in designing and securing CPD-accredited training to help us achieve and maintain accreditation for this vital programme.

This is a key role that will directly contribute to ensuring our training is recognised, professional, and impactful across healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

Work with the Project Lead to design and refine training materials for CPD accreditation.

Advise on the requirements and standards needed to gain CPD accreditation.

Prepare and manage the submission of CPD accreditation applications.

Ensure all documentation, processes, and assessment methods meet accrediting body standards.

Support the development of systems for monitoring and evaluating training outcomes.

Keep up to date with CPD accreditation requirements and advise the charity on renewals and compliance.
