The Deputy Fitness Centre Manager is a role that is largely based on site (80:20 split) and the post holder will work a minimum of 14 hours per week at front of house, leading delivery. As the Community and Events Fundraising Officer, you will play a key part in ending youth homelessness in Scotland by inspiring people to support Rock Trust.
You will deliver exceptional supporter care and create meaningful experiences for everyone fundraising for us. Although a varied role, your work will follow strong themes – relationship building, spending time with supporters, and working with the Fundraising team; all to make a tangible difference for young people.
You’ll join an experienced and collaborative Fundraising and Communications team and be supported to identify opportunities to grow our community presence, take ownership of our community-led income, and inspire long term supporter loyalty to Rock Trust. In this varied and people-focused role you will meet and present to community groups such as schools, student societies, churches, and voluntary organisations. You may support groups to host their own events, take part in Youth and Philanthropy Initiative projects, or run collections, and you’ll play an important role in improving our supporter stewardship; helping create meaningful ways to connect with, and thank, our supporters.
You will also look after our events portfolio; recruiting participants, ensuring they receive top-notch stewardship, and supporting them in their fundraising journey. From our annual Firewalk to third-party challenges such as marathons and abseils, you’ll ensure that every participant has a fantastic experience. In the office, you will collaborate with teams such as Communications and Finance. We deliver our support through our welfare and housing advice service, our active ageing clubs, our volunteer project and our befriending scheme. BIAS has recently expanded into Haringey borough and has exciting plans to further develop its project scope and geographical reach, supported by sustainable and diversified grant funding, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

JOB PURPOSE

·Assist the Programmes & Funding Manager in the delivery of AdviceUK's funded programmes and contribute to their design and development where required.

What skills do I need to be a Special Events Executive?
We are looking for a highly organised and collaborative individual with experience in a customer-focused environment, confident in building relationships with senior stakeholders and volunteers. You will have strong communication and organisation skills, and be comfortable at managing data accurately. A proactive team player, you are comfortable juggling priorities, using IT systems, and have strong written skills.

The Deputy Fitness Centre Manager is a role that is largely based on site (80:20 split) and the post holder will work a minimum of 14 hours per week at front of house, leading delivery. Shift patterns and start times will be dependent on the needs of the business. This will mean occasions when late, early and weekend work will be required. Shift location will vary between our sites. Provided staffing needs are met, the role holder will be able to work from home one day per week. They will utilise customer feedback and insight on our target market, to optimise our service.
The Deputy Fitness Centre Manager is responsible for maximising the number of students using TeamUCL Gyms and ensuring all members have an excellent user experience. They have oversight for the holistic member journey including promotion, joining, induction and retention. Ensuring both the digital and in-person experience exceeds member expectations. They will have autonomy to be agile and responsive to member needs, adapting the customer journey to the changing needs.

Following many years of exceptional service, which has seen Durham City Youth Project (DCYP) grow and develop, our current Project Manager (CEO) is stepping down from her post. The DCYP trustees seek to appoint a Professionally Qualified and Experienced Project Manager (CEO) who can demonstrate passion and enthusiasm to lead the Project into the next stage of its development.
DCYP has been supporting children and young people since 1933. We work across County Durham to provide youth work, counselling, sexual health education and wellbeing support for young people aged 8–19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs.
Our mission is to create opportunities that help young people develop confidence, resilience, skills and aspirations while ensuring they have access to trusted adults, positive activities and support when they need it most.
We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive regardless of their background, circumstances or challenges.
Hours: 35 hours a week to work regular evenings and weekends
Salary: £33k – 37k per annum
