Job description

The role

We are looking for a Sheltered Housing Team Leader to join us at our beautiful 13-acre retirement community (Bencurtis Park) to lead our team of Wardens in delivering consistently high-quality, resident-centred services. This is an essential role to help ensure that Bencurtis Park remains a welcoming, inclusive, positive and safe place where older people can continue to live independently in their own homes for as long as they wish and are able to.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing day-to-day leadership, supervision and support to the Warden Team.
  • Managing the Warden rota to ensure appropriate staffing cover.
  • Coordinating daily resident contact, welfare checks and follow-up support.
  • Supporting residents to live independently, including through support planning, risk assessments and liaison with health, care and community services.
  • Taking a proactive role in safeguarding and family liaison.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues on housing management matters.
  • Ensuring health and safety processes, checks and record keeping are carried out effectively and maintaining accurate records.

For more information about Glebe Housing Association please visit our website.

The person

We are looking for someone who has experience of leading, motivating and supporting staff to deliver high standards of service. You will bring experience from sheltered housing, independent living, care, accommodation-based services or a similar environment, together with a strong understanding of safeguarding, resident support and person-centred working.

You will be empathetic, calm under pressure and able to communicate effectively with older people, relatives, colleagues and external agencies. Strong organisational skills, good judgement, confidentiality and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. You should also be confident using Microsoft Office and willing to learn and make effective use of housing and workplace systems.
