About the role
Motability Foundation is a national charity which believes that no disabled person should be disadvantaged due to poor access to transportation. We help disabled people enjoy the freedom and independence to work, to learn, to access services, and to see family and friends.
We provide a range of grants to help people with different kinds of disabilities, and we oversee the Motability Scheme, delivered by the private company Motability Operations. The Scheme has more than 900,000 disabled customers who use the enhanced mobility benefits they receive from the Government to lease a car, scooter or powered wheelchair.
The Motability Scheme offers a wide range of vehicles, including standard cars, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs), with numerous accessibility adaptations to support independent driving and travel.
There are two key elements to this role:
• To analyse and report on Scheme performance as delivered by Motability Operations.
• To research external factors relevant to the operation of the Scheme including Government policy and developments within the automotive sector.
What you’ll be doing
Scheme Oversight
• Support oversight activities including the review of Motability Operations’ KPI reports and information, analyse performance and report against Scheme operational objectives.
• Produce input to a monthly commentary on Scheme Performance to be presented to the Board of Governors.
• Undertake operational reviews on selected areas of Scheme activity.
• Liaise with Motability Operations to raise areas for review within the Scheme, critically review the reports provided, and escalate to the Board of Governors.
• Participate in policy and process reviews.
• Seek to better understand the delivery of the Motability Scheme.
• Review and document ways of working and process changes in Scheme Oversight.
Research
• Monitor Government policy and legislation relating to the automotive sector including transition to Electric Vehicles in 2035; emissions legislation, including the Zero Emissions Vehicle Mandate; introduction of Clean Air / Congestion Zones; taxation on motoring including potential Road Pricing.
• Keep up to date with developments within the automotive sector, particularly vehicle conversion and adaptations for disabled customers, during a period of significant change including the transition to electric vehicles and the restructuring of motor retail towards manufacturer direct sales and online.
• Prepare research summaries and conclusions for Directors and Governors.
• Consider policy implications for the Scheme following research projects.

About the Role
The Learning and Assessment (L&A) Manager works collaboratively across the organisation to lead and support initiatives and practices that advance the 2025-2030 Strategic Outlook and theory of change. The L&A Manager is responsible for designing, managing, and engaging stakeholders in strategic programmatic and organisational L&A initiatives that are complexity-aware and context-relevant. At FGHR, we strive for a balance between learning practices to help us understand and inform our work and assessment practices to build evidence to support claims about the results or effects of our work.

Qualifications | What You’ll Need to Be Successful

Substantial relevant experience (typically around five years) managing applied evaluation, research, or strategic learning initiatives within human rights, social justice, or a related field where complexity is a given and multiple pathways to success are possible.

Experience with virtual and in-person facilitation and/or coordination of diverse stakeholders on design, implementation, and utilisation of learning or assessment processes and findings.

Experience collecting, analysing, and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data sources, including unstructured or tacit information.

Demonstrated understanding of philanthropic evidence and practices (e.g., flexible funding, participatory grantmaking); experience within a grantmaking organisation preferred.

Ability to set clear goals and objectives, manage consultants, coordinate people and processes, and adapt appropriately.

Ability to work remotely, both independently and as part of a team based in different locations.

Experience with Microsoft 365 tools, including SharePoint and/or data management and analytic functions in Excel or other Office applications.

Ability and willingness to conduct independent domestic or international travel, as required and safe to do so (approximately 5%-10% annually).

Lived and/or professional experience working with vulnerable or politically marginalised organisations and people, especially in places where FGHR works, is desirable.

The Data and Insights Manager will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating quality and impact across our mentoring programmes. The postholder will work closely with the Programmes Team to embed impact in project design and to produce evaluations that assess the impact of mentoring against our theory of change outcomes. The postholder will complete data analysis and evaluation reports for individual mentoring programmes as well as our whole portfolio to present our impact at an aggregate level. Responsible for
- Championing and quality assuring our theory of change, ensuring that programmes are designed with impact at the centre and within the frameworks that will give us the most robust data sets
- Quantitative data analysis for individual programmes and our portfolio of mentoring programmes as a whole, clearly presenting our impact against our outcomes
- Qualitative data analysis of mentoring messages, written feedback and focus groups/1:1 interviews
- Producing high quality evaluation reports for individual programmes, including recommendations for future iterations
- Producing organisational impact reports and blogs/posts, to present our impact to external audiences
- Creating and maintaining PowerBI dashboards to present live impact data
- Proofing and testing baseline and exit surveys to ensure accuracy of questions and survey logic across our portfolio
- Overseeing our data collection tools and upskilling the team to use them effectively/accurately
- Overseeing our external communications to ensure regular sharing of case studies and impact stories through our comms and marketing (social media, newsletters etc.)

What you’ll do
You’ll be part of the Data team, contributing to the full range of work we do. Most of your time will sit within the team’s shared priorities, but you’ll also be the team’s product specialist - the person we turn to first when product questions come in, and you’ll help to develop our understanding of how users interact with the platform.
Your responsibilities will include:

Understanding how Unifrog is used

Building and deepening the team’s understanding of how students, teachers, and partners actually use the platform: spotting patterns, surfacing what’s working, and identifying where users get stuck.

Triaging incoming product data requests

Acting as the first point of contact for product requests into the Data team - scoping them, working out whether the question is the right one, and then either taking them on yourself or adding them to the team's backlog.

Answering quantitative questions to support product development

Tackling the product questions that need analytical work. For example, modelling how to personalise the order of opportunities shown to students, or evaluating the effectiveness of our assessment practice test questions.

Surfacing opportunities for product improvement

Going beyond answering questions to proactively flagging what the data suggests we should do differently - finding friction points, underused features, or patterns in how students and teachers use our tools.

Bringing platform data to life for partners

As someone who understands deeply how students use Unifrog, you'll help internal teams and external partners - schools, universities, and employers - make better decisions using platform usage data.

Contributing to the Data team’s shared workload

Like everyone on the team, you’ll pick up your share of ad hoc requests and cross-company projects - supporting analysis for school-facing teams, partnerships, marketing, and others as needed.

Technically fluent with data

You're extremely comfortable querying, aggregating, and analysing data using SQL, with experience in other tools such as Python, R, advanced Excel, or similar. You can wrangle messy data into something useful, and you have good instincts for when a result looks wrong.

You have a solid understanding of statistical theory and some experience applying it, for example, defining metrics or evaluating an experiment. We see this hire as an opportunity to deepen our team's statistical capabilities.

The Data, Evaluation and Learning team enables Impact on Urban Health to embed learning at the heart of its work, ensuring evidence is used to drive impact in Lambeth and Southwark and to advance understanding of urban health.
The Head of Data & Evaluation leads Impact on Urban Health’s approach to data, research, and evaluation, ensuring high-quality, equitable evidence informs what we fund, how we work, and how we understand impact. The role leads a specialist team, sets standards, and oversees the organisation’s core evidence base, helping ensure Impact on Urban Health is a credible and trusted source of insight on urban health.
The postholder will also provide expert input to other parts of the Foundation where relevant.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead on ensuring data and evaluation are embedded across our work, developing and overseeing the cycle from data and evidence inputs through to analysis and evaluation insights that inform decisions.
- Set the strategic direction for a programme of mixed-methods research, data analysis, and evaluation – that builds on existing evidence, helps us understand needs and impact, and that is equitable and proportionate.
- Design and oversee data and evaluation plans that generate insight for internal decision-making and external influencing, working with senior leaders across Impact on Urban Health.
- Lead Impact on Urban Health’s approach to evaluation, embedding evaluation and learning into delivery alongside programme and partner teams, and shaping how the organisation understands impact across complex and place-based work.
- Oversee the development of priority quantitative and qualitative research and data outputs, articulating Impact on Urban Health’s perspective on the state of urban health locally and beyond.
- Set and uphold standards for data and evaluation, defining expectations for how funded work is evaluated, reported, and used, and ensuring intellectual honesty about the strength and limits of evidence.
- Work closely with the Head of Learning and internal stakeholders to ensure evidence informs organisational priorities and investment decisions.
- Oversee the commissioning and delivery of priority research and evaluation, ensuring projects are tightly scoped, proportionate, and aligned with strategic decisions.
- Lead strategic partnerships, health outcomes analysis, and evidence triangulation, ensuring data, research, evaluation, and lived experience are brought together to understand progress on health equity.

This is a hands-on role that moves between two registers: structured qualitative research with proper analytical underpinning, and fast-turnaround reactive policy work. You will need to be genuinely comfortable in both able to run a multi-month thematic publication and turn around a tight briefing or consultation response within 48-72 hours when a policy window opens.
The role will lead The Difference's qualitative research and insight function, including research workstreams tied to the Difference Schools Partnership's annual thematic priorities, and our Harmful and Abusive Behaviours (HaB) workstream convening a sector council to build a shared framework for how schools understand and respond to peer-on-peer harm. You will produce briefings, evidence submissions and publications, manage external research partners, and work with the CEO, Head of Policy and Communications team to launch research with real impact. The role reports to the Head of Policy and works closely with colleagues across Strategy, Research and Programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead The Difference's qualitative research and insight function, running research workstreams tied to annual DSP thematic priorities and emerging strands on MAT inclusion and LA working
- Design and deliver qualitative research with schools, MATs and local authorities interviews, focus groups, school visits and thematic analysis translating findings into evidence and policy recommendations
- Lead the Harmful and Abusive Behaviours research workstream, convening a sector council, producing briefing material and managing the route from convening to publication
- Produce timely, citable evidence for policy influence including drafting briefings, consultation responses and evidence submissions on fast turnaround
- Project manage publication cycles from scoping through to launch, working with coalition and media partners to maximise reach and tracking policy traction post-launch
- Brief, manage and integrate the outputs of external research partners where commissioned (e.g. FFT Datalab, Pro Bono Economics)
- Capture and develop case studies from DSP schools and the wider Difference network

About the Youth Endowment Fund
We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.
All of us will experience violence at some point in our lives. For many children, it is a daily reality. Each year, tens of children are killed, hundreds are hospitalised, 1 in 5 teenage children are victims and the majority admit to feeling afraid of violence. It scares them when they travel home from school, prevents them from going out and makes the most vulnerable feel like they don’t matter. It is taking lives, traumatising families and dividing communities. It robs potential, progress and hope. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must build an exceptional body of knowledge about violence affecting young people and how we reduce it. This knowledge has to be both rigorous and highly relevant to those making decisions about how to support vulnerable young people. We need to find out what works and what doesn’t through evidence synthesis, data analysis and qualitative research into children’s lives. We need to convert this into highly accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations need to change their practice and how the systems they operate in need to be reformed. We then need to work with the right people that can make change happen, across systems, policies and practice, to have a real impact on reducing violence affecting children’s lives.
The evaluation team contributes to the design and implementation of the fund’s various funding rounds. The team is also responsible for assessing, appointing, monitoring, and the quality assurance of rigorous impact evaluations from experts in the field. The Senior Evaluation Manager will play a key role in leading evaluation work. The post holder will also lead a team of evaluation managers, ensuring they have the support to deliver a portfolio of evaluation projects.
Key responsibilities
The core of your job is to ensure that we are excellent at evaluation, so that we can find out the very best ways to prevent young people and children from becoming involved in violence.
Evaluation
Working with the Head of Evaluation the post holder will:

Implement the processes for assessing the quality of evidence underpinning applications to the fund and making funding recommendations to the Grants and Evaluation Committee.

Shape the evaluation approach for individual grant rounds, including leading on this for a small number of rounds.

Act as a source of expertise on the statistical underpinnings of YEF’s evaluation work, including on issues such as power calculations, regression analysis and missing data.

Lead the delivery of YEF’s evaluation work, designing, commissioning and managing complex and large-scale RCTs and QEDs

Be responsible for YEF’s evaluation policies and reporting templates, ensuring they remain consistent and fit for purpose.

Team management

You have a post-graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in social science, social policy, public health, health services or other field, with a significant quantitative component, or relevant experience equivalent to a Masters qualification.

You have strong knowledge, experience and technical expertise in evaluation methodologies including experience of RCT design and/or design of complex quasi-experimental evaluations (e.g. propensity score matching, regression discontinuity design, instrumental variables).

You have quantitative analysis skills including experience of using advanced analytical software such as R, Stata or SPSS.

You have significant experience in carrying out or commissioning research including designing all aspects of the research and managing external contractors. This may be in academia, government or a related sector.

Hybrid Working Details
The office is based in Central London. Those living in and around London are expected to be in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week. If you live outside of London and work remotely, you’ll be expected to work from the London office 2 days per month.

The Vacancy
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Researcher to make a significant contribution on a 2-year fixed term contract to the design, delivery and management of research and evidence projects at NCB. Research projects at NCB involve a range of methods, often using a mixed-methods approach, that include evidence synthesis and systematic reviews, literature reviews, primary research using qualitative and quantitative methods and secondary data analysis.
A key focus of this role will be leading and delivering high-quality evidence synthesis, as a core component of our research portfolio.
NCB’s research focuses on a broad range of topic areas on behalf of a range of trusts and foundations, statutory, academic, voluntary and community sector funders, including social care and the transition to adulthood; education; mental health & wellbeing; youth violence and early years.
The postholder will work across a range of projects including the topics above and using a range of methods as appropriate, ensuring their work is delivered to NCB’s quality standards.

The Role
The role is critical to ensuring that the organisation is at the forefront of the debate on early years education and childcare.
Working with the PR & Policy Manager, you will take responsibility for monitoring media coverage, creating engaging content for press releases and news features, as well as supporting the Director of Policy and Communications with stakeholder engagement and policy research.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the PR & Policy Manager to deliver the media relations strategy
- Identify and create print, broadcast and digital opportunities for maximising the reach and impact of key messaging

- Develop work programmes and undertake research to explore policy issues
- Liaise with press and media contacts to maximise positive exposure and coverage across UK national and trade media
- Manage the day-to-day operation of media and policy contacts
- Support in finding suitable nurseries as case studies and spokespeople for the press and broadcast media
- Assist with internal and external speaking engagements
- Write and produce material for a range of member communications.
About You
As PR and Policy Officer, we are looking for someone who will bring enthusiasm and creativity to the role. You will be educated to degree level or have gained equivalent experience working in a similar role. You will have outstanding communication skills, have experience of writing for diverse audiences (e.g. newsletters, social media content, briefing papers, press releases) and have excellent editorial and proofreading skills with consistent accuracy. You will also possess strong data analysis skills to draw results, trends and conclusions from qualitative or quantitative data sources.
