Our Counsellors are a lifeline to people in need of talking treatment providing a safe clinical space for individuals to speak out about negative life events and take back control of their lives. We are now recruiting a qualified counsellor to offer life-changing, talking treatments to adults experiencing mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing needs in GP practices across the Rhondda. You will need to be confident in delivering person-centred counselling /psychotherapy to adults in the medium of their choice face to face, online and telephone contract.

Our Counsellors, work hard to ensure that the people we serve receive appropriate and timely access to talking treatments in their time of need.

Role Purpose

· Face to face, online and telephone counselling

· To ensure that all face to face, online and telephone counselling appointments are ethical, and safe in line with best practice recommendations from BACP, NCS and UKCP

· To work in partnership with GP practices and Primary Care Mental Health Support Services, liaising and nurturing key relationships, e.g. GP Practice leads to ensure positive outcomes for people who use our counselling services

· To maintain accurate data and client records in line with GDPR, GP requests and the Mind Quality Mark

· Responsible to: Head of Service and Deputy CEO

Main duties and responsibilities

To uphold and promote best practice in the delivery of high-quality person-centred counselling / psychotherapy services to ensure all Cwm Taf Morgannwg Mind services are safe, ethical and client centred in line with the Mind Quality Mark.

To accurately capture data taking direction from the Counselling supervisor, and colleagues in Primary Care to ensure robust quality monitoring is undertaken and all patient notes accounted for in the delivery of counselling /psychotherapeutic services.

In collaboration with internal and external colleagues to explore how we can improve the counselling / psychotherapeutic experience for people who use our services, implementing recommendations and learning from clinical supervision, team meetings, line management meetings, and your own reflections to improve and refine your professional counselling practice. To ensure the continuous development and sustainability of our services for all in need.

We are looking for someone with a great track record of success in fundraising, who can thrive in a small ambitious team. The Fundraising and Development Director will lead income and resource generation through development strategies, bidding and relationship building. We will expect you to represent our interests in a range of public and private sector contexts and expect you to be a confident and proactive verbal and written communicator and a skilled networker with a strong track record of relationship building. 

This is a senior role in an expanding organisation and is closely aligned with our growth and capital development ambitions with the next three years focused on capital fundraising alongside strategic project development.

The postholder will work closely with and report to the Chief Executive, you will also have a close working relationship with the Executive Director (Programme and Impact) to ensure the resources are in place to fulfil our programme ambitions. You will support the charity’s trustees to be effective champions of our work.

Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF) is a charity that builds thriving communities through effective philanthropy, matching investment to the needs of small charitable groups. We fund around 200 grassroots organisations each year, giving around £2m annually to tackle priority issues. The role

The Financial Accountant will report to the CEO and be part of our small management team. They will oversee our finances as we seek to scale up our grant-making while maintaining our high-quality assurance processes. They will also be responsible for providing scrutiny and a strategic eye to the management of our endowment. A small but important element of the role will be oversight of OCF’s cybersecurity. The successful candidate will combine a rigorous eye for technical detail with long-term thinking and a passion for our mission.

Accountable to: CEO

Key relationships: Treasurer, Chair of Finance Committee, Chair of Trustees, staff team and trustees and OCF fundholders.

Salary: £55,000 (full time equivalent) subject to negotiation for the right candidate.

Hours: 0.6 FTE (21 hours a week, which can be spread flexibly across the week)

Type of contract: Permanent.

Responsibilities

· Accountable for producing the Annual Report and Financial Statements in accordance with the Charity SORP, and being primary contact for the auditors.

· Preparation of annual budget and forecast, quarterly financial reports and monthly management accounts and updated forecasts.

· Maintain the detailed records of the endowment and restricted funds on a monthly basis. Oversee accurate statements for fundholders and provide ad hoc reports and analysis as required.

· Responsible for maintaining strong financial systems to provide accurate financial records and control systems for OCF, working closely with the Development and Grants teams to ensure complete alignment between internal systems (eg SAGE and Salesforce).

· Responsible for ensuring the Finance Committee is effectively supported, including: agenda and minutes, the production of timely reports, following up on actions and ensuring compliance with Charity Commission, HMRC Gift Aid and other reporting requirements.

· Liaise with OCF’s Investment Fund Managers (currently CCLA and Brompton Asset Management) and work with the Finance Committee to ensure performance is maximised.

· Monitor cash balances and ensure OCF is getting value for money on its cash.

· Management and development of a Finance Officer

· Oversight of effective delivery of all financial transactions, bank accounts, cash flow, bank reconciliations and staff payroll; includes oversight of checking the accounts for potential grant recipients.

· Bring to the early attention of the CEO and Chair of Finance Committee any matters of concern and risk in relation to the finances of OCF, and provide financial advice on mitigating actions.

· Maintain cybersecurity and insurance to meet operational requirements, and provide oversight to ensure OCF contracts are value for money.

Key competencies

· ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified and membership of one of the major UK accountancy bodies

· Experience of charity accounting and knowledge of best practice

· A proven track record of financial management in a an organisation with significant turnover understanding of restricted spend-down funds and endowments

· Experience in accounting software – preferably SAGE – with good computer literacy, including MS Excel and ideally CRM systems such as Salesforce

· Ability to think strategically in financial matters and identify areas of risk and opportunity, and to implement improvements working with colleagues.

· Good communication skills, particularly with the ability to explain financial data to a generalist audience of senior decision-makers.

· Commitment to the mission and values of the Oxfordshire Community Foundation

· Commitment to developing staff, preferably with line management experience.

· Willingness to undertake occasional planned evening duties, such as quarterly Finance Committee and Board meetings.

Overview of the role

The Executive & HR Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring that BRAC’s office in Europe operates efficiently and effectively to deliver its mission to support BRAC’s work. About Us

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.

The role

This newly scoped role reports into the CEO and is critical to our ability to create the income we need to keep up with the ever-increasing demand on our services. Primarily, the role has two fundamental elements to it: firstly, working with both a specialist external consultant and the CEO in planning, submitting and reporting on the grants that make up a large proportion of our income; and secondly, the planning and managing of TUR’s traditional (and always fun) annual events. These include celebrity interviews and talks, garden parties and various community events such as the Green Days festival in Chiswick. There are additionally a number of community relationships that add great value to our work and efforts to raise funds which require regular contact. Occasionally, the role will also require presenting or talking to both funders and community groups as we share our magnificent story with them – and ultimately, convince them to support us.

About You

You live within – or know well – West/Central London; you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the cause you’re promoting. You have a CV that demonstrates experience in a comparable role: this could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, so you will need to be disciplined; you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ our story through your advanced written and oral communication skills, enabling us to always deliver highly compelling reasons to secure gain financial (and other) support. You don’t need to be a Microsoft Office expert, but you should be familiar with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Finally, you are self-motivated and energetic, as well as passionate about making sure disadvantaged groups across West London get the opportunity to improve their highly challenging lives. Ideally you will have a driver's licence and use of a car, but this is not essential.

Head of Finance and Operations

Purpose

This is an exciting and vital role performing a range of finance and governance tasks, working within the Senior Leadership Team of a leading mental health charity focused on supporting children and young people.

The Head of Finance and Operations (HFO) will be responsible for the successful management of the charity finances and operations, as well as making a leading contribution to the  charity’s strategic direction.  The role is responsible to the CEO, and activity oversight spans finance, HR, IT, and office management. The HFO is also responsible to the Trustees for the financial state of the charity and as Company Secretary. The role is varied and would suit a qualified accountant with experience of working collaboratively and compassionately with a range of colleagues to achieve organisational objectives. There will be opportunities to increase knowledge and the successful candidate could be supported to undertake further study.

Key responsibilities and duties

Strategy, modelling and leadership

• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive financial strategy supporting the organisation’s wider strategic plan.
• Provide guidance and leadership on short and long-term financial decisions.
• Develop and monitor the implementation of long-range financial plans with the CEO, Board of Trustees and the Finance and Investment committee, to support organisational sustainability and growth.
• Provide leadership (including line management of at least one member of staff) to our small but invaluable finance and operations team comprising our finance and operations manager, finance assistant, and our office and IT coordinator.

Financial and Operational Management

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organisation’s mission, vision and priorities.
• Streamline and optimise operational processes and systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability while availing technological advancement. This includes systems, IT, CRM, Facilities and supplier management.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees.
• Monitor financial performance, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Optimise and manage the Trust’s working capital and cash flow position.
• Maintain appropriate financial records and oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual reports and financial statements in accordance with UK accounting standards, Charity Commission and company law requirements.
• Ensure necessary insurances and contracts are in place and provide required liability and other coverages.
• Develop and manage strong and effective relationships with external auditors, the bank, the treasurer, and other key partners.
• Hold responsibility for all tax matters and compliance with HMRC requirements.

Resources, Risk Management and Compliance

• Overall leadership and accountability for IT, Digital and Business Systems infrastructure, including appropriate data protection requirements.
• Oversight of property matters for the team office, including responsibility for lease, insurance and legal matters.
• Overall leadership for the development and implementation of the risk matrix framework.

Skills required and relevant experience

Essential

• Proven experience at a senior level in a finance role with responsibility across the entire finance function.
• Significant leadership experience spanning Operations, HR and Finance
• Demonstrated aptitude for strategic thinking, planning and analysis.
• Commercial acumen spanning organisational planning, budgeting and using data an insight to drive change.
• Experience at a senior level as Company Secretary or equivalent.
• Excellent financial planning, annual budgeting and forecasting skills.

Desirable

• Knowledge and experience of the charity sector (e.g., management of restricted/ unrestricted funds, VAT partial exemption, Gift Aid, and the Charity SORP).
• Experience of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.

Attainment

• Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
