Are you a recent graduate looking for a role where you'll learn how a charity runs day-to-day? The Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) is looking for a friendly, organised Administration Assistant to join our team in London.
This is a great opportunity to start building your career in charity, social enterprise or office administration. You'll be at the heart of everything we do — supporting our Senior Management Team and Trustees, helping run meetings and events, and keeping our office running smoothly — while developing skills in governance, minute-taking, and project coordination. Whether you're just starting out or already have a year or two of administrative experience, what matters most is your organisation, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for learning.
You'll help manage diaries and meeting logistics for our senior team and Trustees, format and circulate papers for Board and staff meetings, book travel and accommodation, keep our records and filing in good order, and be a welcoming first point of contact for anyone who calls or emails AHF. You'll also get involved in organising our Annual Away Day and other AHF-wide events — and, with support, take minutes at decision-making meetings such as the Audit and Risk Committee and HR committee.
We'd love to hear from you if you enjoy staying organised, communicate clearly and confidently, and like the idea of learning new systems and ways of working. Any experience you've picked up through university, part-time work, volunteering, placements, student societies, committee roles, or paid administrative work all counts.
You'll ideally have an interest in the AHF's mission — helping to deliver a sustainable future for historic buildings throughout the UK — but a passion for heritage is a bonus, not a requirement.
We are a charity committed to being inclusive and giving everyone an equal chance to succeed – you can read more about our EDI commitments from our website. Applications are welcome from all regardless of age, sex, gender identity, disability, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, religion or belief, race, sexual orientation, transgender status or socio-economic background.
Position title: Administration Assistant
Contract length: Full-time, Permanent
Remuneration: £27,500 per annum

Application: Please submit a CV and covering letter (up to two sides of A4)

Interviews:
We will be reviewing applications and interviewing on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged — we may fill the role before the closing date.
About the AHF
AHF is a leading heritage charity founded in 1976 to help charities and social enterprises across the UK find solutions for vulnerable historic buildings. We do this by offering advice, grants, and loans. You can find more details of the AHF and the impact of our work on our website.

If you would like to apply for this post, please send a CV and a covering letter with a subject line: “Administration Assistant” .
Because we're keen to fill this role quickly and give every candidate the best chance, we will review applications and invite people to interview as they come in, rather than waiting until the closing date. So please don't hold off — the earlier you apply, the sooner we can talk to you.
If shortlisted for interview, we will be in touch with you. However, we are a small charity and, due to the volume of applications we anticipate, we regret that we will be unable to provide feedback if you are not shortlisted.

Fundraising Manager
£45,000 FTE | £27,000 actual salary
22.5 hours per week | Part-time | Hybrid – Ilford, Essex
Ready to take the lead and make your mark?
The Dream Factory creates life-changing dreams for children and young adults aged 3–25 who are living with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, severe disabilities and serious illnesses.
Every dream we grant creates something incredibly precious: an experience to look forward to, a chance for families to spend special time together and memories that can last a lifetime.
We are now looking for an experienced and relationship-focused Fundraising Manager to help us grow our income, strengthen our supporter relationships and enable us to grant even more dreams.
This is more than an opportunity to manage an existing fundraising programme. You'll have the chance to help shape the future of fundraising at The Dream Factory.
Working just 22.5 hours across three days a week, this could be an ideal opportunity for an experienced fundraiser looking for greater flexibility alongside the chance to take real ownership of a fundraising function.
Could this be your next step?
You may already be a Fundraising Manager, or you could be an experienced Senior Fundraiser, Corporate Fundraiser, Community Fundraiser or Partnerships Fundraiser who's ready to take the next step and lead a fundraising function.
You don't need to be an expert in every area of fundraising.
We're looking for someone who knows how to build strong relationships, spot opportunities, turn ideas into income and inspire others to support a cause.
You'll be someone who enjoys thinking strategically but is equally happy rolling up your sleeves and making things happen.
What you'll be doing
Working closely with our small and committed team and Board of Trustees, you will take the lead on developing our fundraising and building sustainable income for the charity.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- shape and deliver our fundraising plans and priorities
- develop new corporate partnerships and build relationships with local and national businesses
- grow our community fundraising and individual giving
- develop fundraising campaigns, events and new income opportunities
- nurture existing supporters and develop long-term relationships
- identify opportunities to increase and diversify income
- manage and support colleagues involved in fundraising activity
- develop the systems and processes needed to support effective fundraising
- monitor fundraising performance and provide updates to the Board
- bring your own ideas, experience and creativity to the role.
This is a hands-on position. We are looking for someone who is excited by the opportunity to both lead fundraising and get involved in delivering it.
You won't be doing it alone
We know that asking one person to “lead all fundraising” can sound like a big ask – particularly in a part-time role.
That's why it's important to us that candidates understand that you will be joining an established charity with a committed staff team, supportive Board, existing supporters and fundraising relationships.
You'll also have external support for our trusts and foundations fundraising, allowing you to focus your time on developing other areas of income and building relationships that can help The Dream Factory grow.
You'll have the freedom to bring new ideas, test different approaches and help us decide where our greatest fundraising opportunities lie.
Who we're looking for
We're much more interested in what you can do than where you've worked.
You'll probably have experience of generating income through one or more areas of fundraising, rather than necessarily having worked across every income stream.
We'd particularly love to hear from you if you:
- have experience of successfully generating fundraising income
- are confident building relationships with supporters, businesses and partners
- can identify and develop new fundraising opportunities
- are comfortable taking ownership and working independently
- can balance planning with hands-on delivery
- communicate confidently and can inspire people to support a cause
- are organised and able to manage competing priorities
- enjoy working as part of a small team where everyone contributes
- share our determination to create extraordinary experiences for children, young adults and their families.
Experience of corporate, community or individual giving would be particularly valuable, but we don't expect you to arrive with experience of everything.
If you have strong fundraising experience, great relationship-building skills and the ambition to step up and lead, we'd encourage you to apply.
Why join The Dream Factory?
Because in a small charity, you can see the difference you make.
You'll have genuine ownership of fundraising and the opportunity to shape how it develops.
You'll work directly with a passionate team and Board, build relationships with supporters and partners and see the direct connection between the income you help generate and the dreams we're able to make come true.
This role offers:
- £45,000 FTE salary (c£27,000 actual)
- 22.5 hours per week across three days
- hybrid working
- genuine autonomy and the opportunity to shape fundraising strategy
- the chance to develop your experience as a fundraising leader
- an opportunity to make a visible and lasting difference within a small charity.
For someone who has been waiting for the opportunity to take the lead, introduce their own ideas and build something, this could be that opportunity.
About The Dream Factory
The Dream Factory grants dreams to children and young adults aged 3–25 with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, severe disabilities and serious illnesses.
Our dreams are about much more than one special day. They give children and young people something positive to focus on, create opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach and give families precious experiences and memories together.
We are a small charity with big ambitions and our ability to reach more families depends on growing sustainable fundraising income.
That's where you come in.
Interested?
If you're an experienced fundraiser looking for a flexible role where you can have genuine influence or you're ready to take the next step in your fundraising career – we'd love to hear from you.
Please don't be put off if you don't meet every single point in the job description. If you believe you have the fundraising experience, relationship-building skills and enthusiasm to make a difference at The Dream Factory, we'd encourage you to apply.
