Job Purpose

This role offers an opportunity to play a vital part in sustaining our Helpline service, which sits at the heart of the support we provide to people living with PSP & CBD. As Helpline Care Navigator (HCN), you will act as the first point of contact for individuals, families and health professionals across the West and South West.

You will deliver compassionate, person-centred support and clear, practical information via telephone and email, ensuring people affected by PSP & CBD feel heard, informed and supported at every stage of their journey. Alongside direct support, you will actively engage with health and social care professionals, neurology clinics and wider partners to strengthen local awareness of PSP & CBD and enhance referral pathways across the region.

This is a key role in maintaining continuity, quality and momentum within our Helpline service and you will be reporting to the Helpline and Support Services Manager.

Full Time – permanent contract (6 month probationary period)

• 35 hours per week -  this may include working some unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends.

The main office is in Milton Keynes, and we have a hybrid working policy with staff expected to spend one day a week in the office and the remainder can be worked from home. HCN’s currently work from the office on a Wednesday. There is flexibility in the arrangements that need to be agreed upon with the line manager.

Key Responsibilities

To be ‘first point of call’ for people with PSP & CBD and their families living in the West and South West Region including Shropshire, Herefordshire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Hampshire, West Sussex, East Sussex, Dorset, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, Avon, Isle of Wight. Providing people with support and information over the phone and via email.

• To raise awareness of PSP & CBD across all health and social care disciplines in he region by engaging with HSCP’s and neurology clinics.
• To provide accurate information in all aspects of PSP & CBD in response to enquiries and signpost onto other organisations where appropriate.
• Ensure a maximum response to all helpline calls, emails and enquires.
• To keep clear and accurate records and statistics of enquires received and actions taken.
• To carry out a maximum number of proactive calls to people affected by PSP & CBD within the region as directed by the Helpline Manager.
• Develop and maintain the existing database of key health and social care professionals and regional services.
• Attend outreach events to build the profile of PSPA services amongst health and social care professionals.
• To deliver awareness and learning sessions to HSCP’s within your region
• Work with the Director of Policy and Influencing to identify ways in which services and care can be improved for families affected by PSP & CBD in the region.
• To signpost to PSPA Support Groups and services.
• Liaise with external services to signpost to local support.
• Take an active part in the delivery and planning of information and support events, which may include the possibility of overnight stays and weekends.
• Liaise with the fundraising team to signpost to fundraising activities.
• Liaise with the Volunteer Coordinator to maintain and build volunteering in the region.
• To attend and contribute constructively to team and other meetings as required.
• To ensure the implementation of policies, procedures and quality standards as defined by PSPA.
• Contribute to the development of literature and articles for PSPA Matters.
• To undertake any other tasks, by agreement as required, in support of the work of PSPA.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

• Experience in delivering helpline and/or information and support services
• Excellent listening and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to listen actively understanding different points of view
• Ability to keep accurate records
• Willingness to undertake training and continuing personal development
• Experience of and sensitivity to communicating with audiences from a range of backgrounds
• Strong IT skills, with experience in MS Office products and customer relationship management software
• Flexible and reliable attitude and the ability to self-organise and to work without direct supervision
• Good communication skills, both oral and written and excellent telephone manner
• Ability to manage difficulty questions, emotions and situations in a calm and confident way.

Desirable Criteria:

• Knowledge of PSP & CBD or other neurodegenerative diseases and/or experience of working in the NHS

icap is looking for an experienced and committed Clinical Services Manager to join our Clinical Management Team and support the Director of Clinical Services in the delivery, development and governance of icap’s therapeutic services.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician with strong clinical management and people-management skills who is passionate about delivering high-quality, accessible therapy and supporting therapists to provide safe, effective and culturally sensitive services.

As Clinical Services Manager, you will have an important role in overseeing the day-to-day delivery of our clinical services, supporting our network of therapists and supervisors, and ensuring that clients receive a high-quality service from referral through to allocation and ongoing therapy.

Key responsibilities

As Clinical Services Manager, you will:

• Provide clinical leadership and management across designated services, supporting therapists and supervisors and ensuring that clinical practice meets icap’s policies, procedures and governance requirements.

• Oversee the client journey, including referrals, pre-initial consultations, triage, assessments and allocations, working closely with the Clinical Administrator and assessing therapists.

• Provide senior clinical advice and consultation, including guidance around clinical risk, safeguarding and complex presentations, and provide clinical cover where required.

• Support and develop our clinical teams, including induction, regular reviews, recruitment, team meetings, CPD and ensuring high standards of clinical documentation and outcome measurement.

• Build strong relationships with partner agencies, funders and stakeholders, representing icap at relevant meetings and contributing to consultation, service development and improved access to therapy.

• Work closely with the Director of Clinical Services and wider management team on clinical governance, service development, audits, policies, reporting and the continued development of icap’s therapeutic services.

About you

We are looking for a qualified and experienced therapist who combines strong clinical expertise with excellent organisational and management skills.

You will have:

• Full professional membership, registration and accreditation with UKCP, BPS, BPC, BACP or equivalent.

• At least five years’ post-qualification experience.

• Experience of working therapeutically with people who have experienced childhood trauma.

• Experience of clinical management or management within an organisational setting.

• Experience of working across different cultural contexts and a strong commitment to culturally sensitive practice.

• Experience of collecting and measuring clinical outcomes, including CORE.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and people-management skills.

• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary and collaborative team.

• Knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding and clinical governance requirements.

• An understanding of Irish history, culture, identity and the experiences of Irish communities.

Experience or training in additional therapeutic approaches such as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, IFT, EMDR or Integrative Counselling would be desirable.

CHOICE IN HACKNEY is seeking an experienced Advocacy Trainer and Mentor to join our Choices Into Work Project and play a key role in developing skilled and effective advocacy practitioners.

In this specialist role, you will be responsible for eight trainees/mentees each year and will develop and deliver an accredited training programme in either Disability Hate Crime or Disability & Domestic Violence, according to organisational need and learner demand.

You will design accessible training materials and deliver engaging sessions using presentations, group discussions, and practical exercises. Training will cover areas such as legislation, criminal justice processes, safeguarding, evidence gathering, advocacy, partnership working and the rights of disabled people. Domestic violence training may include safety planning, risk assessment, child protection, MARAC, housing, court processes and trauma-informed practice.

Alongside training, you will provide one-to-one and group mentoring throughout trainee placements. You will help trainees apply classroom learning to real advocacy situations, develop professional confidence and resilience, identify learning needs and build safe, person-centred advocacy skills.

Where appropriate, you will maintain a small advocacy caseload, supporting disabled people experiencing Disability Hate Crime and/or Domestic Violence with information, practical support, rights, safeguarding and criminal or civil justice processes. You will promote self-advocacy and work with specialist agencies including police, housing, legal and victim-support services.

We are looking for someone with significant advocacy or specialist support experience in Domestic Violence and/or Hate Crime, experience working with disabled people at risk, adult training and mentoring experience, and excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and trauma-informed practice.

We deliver essential mental health support in Hertfordshire, providing a diverse range of services from our Wellbeing Centres and other locations across the county. We help individuals experiencing mental ill health to make choices, find their solutions, build resilience and manage their wellbeing. About the role

As HR/People Officer, you will provide high-quality, accurate support across the full employee/volunteer lifecycle, while also contributing to employee and volunteering relations, and continuous improvement of our People & Culture services. You will be a role model for our values and a key contributor to a positive team culture

As HR/People Officer you will be part of a team who support a headcount of approximately 250 employees, 200 volunteers and 150 self-employed individuals across Hertfordshire. You will be instrumental in ensuring that all individuals employed or volunteering within Hertfordshire Mind receive advice, guidance in a responsive, knowledgeable, and customer-focused way.

Key Responsibilities include:

Employee Lifecycle

• Deliver a high-quality, confidential and customer-focused People service from recruitment through to leaving.
• Advise line managers on recruitment; selection, interview and safer recruitment
• Provide People advice for queries from the People & Culture team in line with policies, managing and or escalating complex issues as appropriate.

Systems, Data & Reporting

• Produce timely and accurate People management information to assist organisational decision-making. (ihasco, Breathe, Livepay, Charity log, etc)
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the HR information system (Breathe HR), including new profiles, personal data, annual leave and absence reporting.
• Oversee monthly payroll data collation, including hours, absences, and any contractual changes, ensuring timely submission to Payroll.
• Ensure Breathe annual holiday renewal and other system updates are effectively completed and communicated

Employee Relations & Case Management

• Manage employee relations cases, such as sickness absence, conduct, capability, disciplinary, grievance, family focussed leave, flexible working requests.
• Undertake casework, guiding and advising on relevant procedure including gathering evidence and drafting investigation reports, tracking case progress and ensuring communications and actions are completed.
• Provide consistent and fair advice to managers in accordance with policies, escalating complex issues as appropriate.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to projects such as employee engagement initiatives, policy updates, wellbeing programmes, EDIE (VIBE, Voice, Inclusion, Belonging, Engagement) and system improvements.
• Support quality assurance processes in line with National Mind policies and ISO9001 standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve people processes, recommending and implementing enhancements under the guidance of the People & Culture Director

General Responsibilities

• To support any member of the People and Culture team and to cover team absence as required.
• Note taking for meetings as required
• Promote Hertfordshire Mind services by attending events, campaigns, and open days to raise awareness of mental health.
• Uphold Hertfordshire Mind policies and procedures, including the Equalities Statement.

We are looking for an experienced and resourceful Service Development Manager to work closely with the CEO to establish and deliver a strong presence across Forest of Dean, Cheltenham and Tewkesbury.

The Role
