We are seeking an organised and compassionate Speech & Language Therapist to join our therapy team. About you

We are looking for candidates with a positive approach and excellent professional skills. The successful candidate will have knowledge of potential communication and dysphagia challenges. You will also have knowledge of assessment tools and a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant to our client group, who have a range of needs such as LD, ASD, PMLD and epilepsy.

POSITION SUMMARY

Business Launchpad wishes to hire a highly organised, process-driven individual to oversee operations for its Tooting Works business centre.

As a key member of the Tooting Works team, the Operations Manager oversees the renting of our office units, tenant relations, and building maintenance and management, among other things. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Centre Operations Management

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business centre, ensuring all facilities are well-maintained and running smoothly, and that the lettings process is compliant and well-managed.
• Implement and monitor operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service quality, including opportunities to digitise procedures and services.
• Manage building improvement and repair projects in collaboration with the maintenance team and the operations director.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and manage risk assessments.
• Identify, anticipate and address problems and opportunities for the business centre in collaboration with senior management.

Customer Service

• Act as a point of contact for tenants, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.

• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement strategies to attract new tenants and retain existing tenants with the goal of maintaining high occupancy levels.

Financial Management

• Ensure tenant arrears are regularly monitored and managed.

Line Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage the lettings and maintenance teams, ensuring high performance and productivity.

• Handle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of staff members as needed.

Essential Skills / Experience

•  Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Proficiency with databases, a good understanding of regulation and supervision, and confident use of standard technology such as Outlook, Word, and Excel are required. For over 20 years Somerset Environmental Records Centre (SERC) has been the focal organisation for holding data on wildlife sightings, types of habitats and geological information for Somerset.

We are looking for a Science and Data Specialist to support the strategy and work with SERC and the wider Somerset Wildlife Trust (SWT) Team to manage and increase the data and evidence required to meet our organisational goals.

Responsibility 1: Data and Evidence

• Working with the Head of Innovation and Evidence to develop the Somerset Wildlife Trust strategic approach to data and evidence, promoting SWT as a respected research-led organisation.
• Leading the review and updating of the Somerset State of Nature report, understanding gaps in information and exploring innovative options to increase data coverage and confidence, working closely with the SERC manager and data team.
• Leading on behalf of the Local Nature Partnership to provide inputs to the implementation, review and monitoring of the Somerset Local Nature Recovery Strategy, working closely with stakeholders including Somerset Council, landowner, communities and businesses involved in implementing measures to produce LNRS outcomes.
• Ensuring that new green finance mechanisms such as Biodiversity Net Gain and Wilder Carbon are operating from a sound evidence base, with a clear understanding of reporting needs and routes to monitoring and funding, working with the Heads of Nature Recovery, Reserves and SWTC. 
• Working with flagship investments and grants such as Honeygar Farm, to package, publicise and promote the outcomes of research programmes to appropriate audiences for maximum impact. Contributing to plans to scale these flagships and use science and data to build confidence around future investment plans.

Responsibility 2: Partnership and Funding

• Developing and managing the SWT approach to research partnership positioning SWT as a partner of choice for a diverse range of research-intensive organisations from across disciplines and institutions.
• Working closely with the SWT grants team to provide a pipeline of opportunities for funding, supporting the data and science strategic approach.
• Demonstrating clear planning and management skills around project implementation and budget management to support the portfolio of funded projects, working with staff across the organisation as appropriate.

About the role
The Thames Valley Fundraising team are excited to offer out an excellent opportunity to join the Community Fundraising team. We are looking to hire a Manager or Director, depending on the candidate’s experience and fit for the role.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

In the past five years of running our Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program, we have found that the best predictor of which incubated charities will end up causing the highest impact is the quality of the co-founding team. As we scale up, one of our biggest bottlenecks is identifying highly talented, value-aligned people out of the thousands of candidates from all over the world who apply to our programs. The difference in outcomes between a bad and a good hire can be huge, but this variation is even more extreme when it comes to co-founders. The initial staff of an organization set the pace, tone, and culture for the long-term. We estimate the impact of each average alumna/alumnus of our Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program to be equivalent to donating $200,000-350,000 USD / year to effective charities. Finding 20-30 of these gems each year is difficult but is incredibly impactful. As such, the Recruitment role is one of the most important roles we are hiring for. 

The Recruitment Manager (or Director’s) role is flexible, as reflected in this job description. It is likely to be either 100% on vetting applicants to our programs, 50% on vetting and 50% on outreach and marketing for new applicants, or 50% on vetting and 50% on team management. The level of seniority will depend on the successful candidate’s skills, fit, and interests. The Director would be responsible for managing team members and setting strategy for the department. The manager-level role would be focused more on the implementation and systems improvement of our recruitment process. 

The Recruitment Manager (or Director) will focus on:

• Vetting multi-stage application processes (application forms, test tasks, interviews and psychometrics)

• Improving and adjusting our processes (e.g. coming up with predictive interview questions for new job roles; improving existing questions and tasks on the basis of data collected)

• Developing and formalizing a deep understanding of what traits, motivations, and personality types will be successful in different kinds of career paths and roles

• (if interested and a strong fit) Working with our outreach team to develop and execute marketing strategies that speak to the right people, inform them about our supported career paths, and help them apply

• (if interested and a strong fit) Managing or co-managing the recruitment team

The kinds of tasks involved in this look something like this:

• Evaluating hundreds of application forms and test tasks to figure out which are the most promising, using a wide range of information, formal and informal clues, and heuristics

• Evaluating and conducting candidate interviews to help identify and select the most promising candidates to join our programs

• Formalizing informal hiring heuristics into rubrics and learning algorithms (no programming required)

• Project managing each application round to ensure each candidate gets useful, timely, and relevant test tasks and information on next steps

• Analyzing historical data to pull out findings for future rounds (here’s an older public example)

• Conducting interviews with successful applicants to create feedback loops for improving our processes

• Automating aspects of the process to increase scalability and reduce staff time

• Conducting interviews with experts in vetting and hiring to determine cross-applicable lessons that we can apply

• Building models and character profiles of ideal candidates and talking to alumni from our programs to refine and improve these

• Running analysis and back correlations on historically successful founders to identify traits that may define the most promising applicants

What We Need

Would you like to help send donated medicines around the world to those who do not have access to live-saving medicines? IHP is recruiting a Logistics Officer to become part of our growing logistics team who coordinate the safe and responsible donation of medical products to where the needs are greatest, so that people don’t suffer needlessly from treatable illnesses.

As a Logistics Officer you will play an integral role in IHP’s work arranging the shipping of donated medicines and medical supplies, for example our essential health packs and antibiotics, ensuring their secure transportation to diaster hit and vulnerable communities such as Sudan and Gaza.

• ​Securing cost effective shipping quotes from some of the largest freightforwarders in the UK
• Preparing shipping documentation
