The role
This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your educational skills, in a natural environment, whilst engaging young people, as well as our local communities. You will have a background and passion for teaching and engaging a range of audiences, to learn about the importance of our rivers, together with the ecosystems that survive and thrive around them. You will have a hands on approach, with the ability to design, develop and deliver a range of educational activities to suit your varying audiences. You will enjoy having time working independently to create your teaching sessions, either in an office environment or at home, as well as being outside, delivering your teaching or activities.
Whilst you will predominately cover the Surrey catchment area, you will be happy and flexible to work anywhere within the south east, together with some degree of flexibility with the hours that you work, so that events can be held on occasional evenings and weekends. Your time will be spent at home developing your sessions, delivering a range of activities such as guided walks or talks, as well as hands on activities in and around a river, or educational events.

Job Title: Service Manager
Location: Luton, floating support service based within the office and around different locations as required
Salary: £35,000

About the role
This is an exciting new role to lead a brand new contract which supports the referral process from the Housing Solutions teams! The service focuses on providing floating and wraparound support to single applicants who are at risk of homelessness and are able to live independently, by providing a housing support plan towards resolving housing needs and support them into long-term, stable housing.
As a Service Manager, you will oversee pilot operations, providing supervision and support to the team, case workers, and other external stakeholders. You will handle referrals to/from councils, allocate referrals to the team, and engage with council's data analysis and reporting to ensure continuous improvement and accountability. You will escalate any complex high risk or high needs cases to the council for reverse referrals and undertake regular monitoring and tracking of Housing Support Officers and Landlord Liaison performance to endure that KPIs and outcomes are being delivered.

You will be a member of the community management team reporting to the General Manager and managing the Service Manager / Care & Support Manager, to lead, manage and develop the community locally and regionally.
You will hold the Registered Manager status and all its responsibilities with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for maintaining the service registration and working to the expected regulations and standards.

Main responsibilities
- Lead the team in developing and providing creative and responsive support packages to the people we support that embrace and promote a positive behaviour approach.
- Ensure that support is provided in an effective, efficient, and sustainable way resulting in positive outcomes in line with individual support plans.
- Lead the development and maintenance of effective working relationships with people we support, their relatives and advocates.

What you’ll bring to the role:
- Leadership in Health and Social Care level 5 or equivalent for ‘Register Manager Status’

Advocacy Coordinator
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 depending on experience

We are seeking to recruit an Advocacy Coordinator to develop and coordinate the delivery of influencing strategies around the identified public policy and advocacy priorities of the Methodist Church and the Joint Public Issues Team. In recent years these have includes issues around poverty, refugees and migration, the environment, the economy, peace and conflict, and politics.
You would be working for the Methodist Church and as part of the ecumenical Joint Public Issues Team, which brings together the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches, plus associate partners, to work together for peace and justice. It does this through listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on public policy issues.
You’ll need to bring experience of coordinating campaigns or advocacy initiatives, and a proven ability to build influential relationships and to convene and facilitate groups to enable decision-making and commitment to shared action. You’ll also need a good understanding of UK politics and of the context for public policy development, and to be a great communicator. While there is no requirement that you be a practicing Christian, you should be sympathetic to the mission of the Methodist Church, and share our commitment to seeking justice and to issues of equality, diversity and inclusion.
