Bring your voice and experience to a Board where it can shape real change. Join a national children’s health and wellbeing charity, challenge our thinking, influence our future and help us make stronger decisions for the children, young people and families at the heart of everything we do.
Compass exists for children, young people and families who need someone in their corner. For 40 years, we have delivered health and wellbeing services that give people access to the right support, at the right time and in ways that reflect their needs and communities.
We are looking for a voluntary Non Executive Director and Trustee to join our Board and help shape what comes next. This is an opportunity to use your knowledge, experience and perspective somewhere they can influence real decisions and help Compass remain ambitious, accountable and focused on the people our services exist for.
As a member of the Board, you will provide independent oversight, constructive challenge and fresh thinking. You will work alongside fellow Trustees and our senior leaders to help shape strategy, review organisational performance and ensure decisions are thoughtful, evidence informed and consistent with our charitable purpose and values.
Your role will reach across the organisation. You will contribute to discussions about service quality, safeguarding, workforce, finance, risk, performance and long term sustainability. You will ask the questions that help us think differently, test assumptions and understand the likely impact of our decisions. You will also share responsibility for ensuring Compass is well governed, uses its resources responsibly and meets its legal and regulatory duties as a charity.
This role is about more than attending Board meetings. You will have opportunities to deepen your understanding of Compass, connect with the people who deliver our services and see how Board decisions translate into practice. You will act as an ambassador for our work and help us build trust with the communities, partners and organisations around us. You will also contribute to at least one Board advisory group, bringing closer attention to an area where your knowledge, experience or curiosity can add value.
We want our Board to benefit from a range of voices and experiences. We welcome applications from people of all cultures, ethnicities, backgrounds and walks of life, including those underrepresented at Board level. This is not about asking anyone to speak for an entire community. It is about building a stronger, more representative Board that makes better decisions, challenges established thinking and understands the people it serves.
Previous experience as a Trustee or Non Executive Director would be valuable, but it is not essential. We are interested in what you can bring, whether that comes from your professional career, your community, your lived experience or a combination of these. You will need the confidence to contribute your views, the openness to listen to others and the integrity to put the interests of Compass and the people we support first.
You will be joining a Board where your contribution will be heard and valued. If you are curious about how your experience could help shape a national children’s health and wellbeing charity, we would encourage you to take a closer look.
This is a voluntary appointment. Expenses directly connected with carrying out the role, such as travel, will be reimbursed.

Artemis was founded in 2007 and has been delivering high-quality performing arts education in Bracknell ever since.
The charity is now operating at scale and is on track to achieve a turnover of £1 million in 2026, delivering theatre, dance and cheer provision alongside education and wellbeing outcomes for children, young people and adults. We work with around 600 people a week through classes, workshops and outreach.
This all means our Board of trustees is growing, and we are looking for a Trustee with experience of charity and theatre finance.

Interviews will be online.
The first stage interview will be with a board member and either the CEO or Executive Director (who are also Artemis' founders).

Touch Grass has come a long way over the past few years. What started as a community-led idea has grown into an organisation creating joyful opportunities for queer women, trans and non-binary people of colour to reconnect with nature, creativity and one another through nature, creativity and community.
As we continue to grow, we're looking to strengthen our governance and are recruiting a small number of volunteer Board Directors to help guide the next chapter of our journey.
As a founder-led organisation, we're looking for people who are excited to support and steward our long-term vision. The Board's role will be to provide strategic oversight, accountability and thoughtful challenge, while the day-to-day running of Touch Grass continues to be led by our Founder & CEO, alongside the core team.
Our Board will meet once every quarter (four meetings a year), with occasional input between meetings where appropriate.
We're looking for someone with experience in:
🌱 Finance & Accounting (Treasurer)
We're particularly interested in people who believe in equity, collective care and community-led change. We know that stronger governance comes from diverse perspectives, and we'd especially love to hear from people whose lived experiences reflect the communities we exist to serve.
This is a voluntary opportunity to help shape the long-term future of an organisation working to make the outdoors more welcoming, representative and accessible for queer women, trans and non-binary people of colour.
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in—or you know someone who would be a brilliant fit—we'd love to hear from you.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
As the Guild has grown in the past few years, our risk management, financial controls, and body of policies and procedures have also matured. Following the scheduled departure of two trustees earlier this year, the Guild’s Finance Subcommittee is seeking to welcome an independent member with relevant skills to attend meetings and advise on financial matters to help us make good decisions effectively.
This voluntary role supports trustees and staff by providing independent insight, constructive scrutiny, and professional expertise on financial planning, budgeting, risk, and long-term sustainability. As a guest to Finance Subcommittee meetings, you will review financial information, contribute to discussions, and help ensure resources are used effectively to maximise our charitable impact for students.
The Finance Subcommittee currently consists of two elected Officers, two external Trustees, and may include a student trustee in future. Papers and reports are ordinarily provided by the Guild Director, who is a non-voting guest to Subcommittee meetings. The Subcommittee normally meets four times per year for around two hours.
Students’ Union experience is not essential, but we are seeking a volunteer able to operate within our distinctive context. We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in finance, accounting, audit, charity governance, or business management.
We enrich the lives of all college, university, and apprentice learners at University College Birmingham so that they can achieve their full potential

What we do
Respair Therapy C.I.C. began in 2023 with a simple belief: dance belongs to everybody, and every body. Like many of the people we work with, Respair does not fit neatly into one box. Our work exists on a spectrum, from the gloriously frivolous to the deeply serious.
At one end, we hire out silent disco equipment so that people can turn their living room, kitchen or garden into a dancefloor. We create joyful events where people can put on a pair of headphones, choose their music and dance together without worrying about what they look like. Income from silent disco hire goes back into Respair, so a party in someone’s garden can help another person access psychological support.
At the other end is Dance Movement Psychotherapy, or DMP. This is not a dance class or an informal wellbeing activity. It is a recognised form of psychotherapy in which movement, the body and the relationship between client and therapist are central to the clinical work.
In the UK, Dance Movement Psychotherapists complete postgraduate training at Master’s degree level, including clinical placements, personal therapy, supervised practice and academic research. Qualified practitioners register with the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK and work to professional and ethical standards. DMP is used within NHS services, as well as in schools, mental health services, social care, charities and private practice. It is serious clinical work that can support people experiencing trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, loss, relationship difficulties and other forms of psychological distress.
Between these two ends are projects such as Babe Club, our silent disco for parents, carers and babies; therapeutic movement in schools; and work with neurodivergent people, adults with learning disabilities and people living with dementia.
Our work is inclusive, trauma informed and anti oppressive. Whether we are helping somebody throw a brilliant party or supporting a person through specialist psychotherapy, we are creating more opportunities for people of different ages, backgrounds and abilities to experience movement, connection and psychological support.
How do we what we do
Respair is run by a Founding Director and team of Supporting Directors who volunteer their time. The Founding Director is also the Lead Psychotherapist and Facilitator. We meet quarterly to discuss the finance, legal and compliance aspects of the work. We have an accountant and a book keeper and we use Quickbooks to keep everything in one place. We apply for funding from local and national funding bodies. We have been successful in securing over £24,000 in restricted funds, and we have plans to apply for more.
What we need
Respair is a creative and responsive organisation, so new ideas and opportunities can appear quickly. We need a Finance Director who can help us pause, understand the numbers and decide what is realistic.
The right person will be financially experienced, practical and approachable. They will look beyond whether the figures add up to help us understand what they mean, ask difficult questions and give clear advice.
Essential skills and qualities
The successful candidate will:
The Finance Director will work closely with Debbie, our Founding Director, so a warm, straightforward and respectful working relationship will be important.
Desirable skills and qualities
It would be helpful if the candidate also has:
We do not expect one person to know every answer. We do expect them to recognise the limits of their knowledge, ask questions and seek specialist advice when needed. A sense of humour and an understanding of the slightly unpredictable nature of a small, growing organisation would also be very welcome.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

Join Seen Sisters as a Non-executive Director!
Help us fund joyful, inclusive spaces for solo women with invisible disabilities. After a successful pilot, we have a goal to secure sustainable income generation and multi-year funding as we expand our grassroots mission.
Could you be the person to support our community?
This is a formal Non-Executive Director position, with registration as a company director of Seen Sisters and the associated legal and governance responsibilities. We’re looking for someone who can bring both strategic expertise and practical involvement, helping us shape sustainable income-generation and fundraising strategy, while also getting involved in opportunities such as developing income ideas, researching funders and writing funding bids. You’ll work collaboratively with the Co-Directors and members, providing strategic oversight and support rather than being expected to manage every aspect of delivery yourself.
This is a voluntary role for now, but we're actively seeking funding and would be happy to explore including your role in future bids.
We are looking for someone with a passion to support our mission, who already has experience of being a director of a company and is aware of the commitment, responsibility and trust required for this role.
About Seen Sisters
Who we are:
Seen Sisters is for solo women aged 25–55 who live with invisible disabilities. Our community is specifically for those who do not have children or a long-term, stable partner to rely on for emotional, financial, or practical support. These women often appear ‘well’ to others, which means their needs are frequently overlooked by wider society and services. Many face isolation, discrimination, and a lack of tailored support despite experiencing daily barriers that reduce their quality of life.
How we help (our services):
Seen Sisters is a lived experience project that creates joyful, inclusive spaces where solo women with invisible disabilities can reimagine the world on their own terms. We offer peer support, creative workshops, community-led events, and co-designed resources. Our spaces are designed to centre care, accessibility, and empowerment. Through conscious partnerships, collective nourishment, and community voice, we co-create opportunities to be seen, heard, and supported in ways that traditional systems fail to offer.
What will you be doing?
We are looking for a Non-executive Director who holds a speciality within finance and strategy.
Our goal as a grass-roots organisation is to secure multi-year funding and a strong focus on also developing sustainable income generation streams outside of grant funding, which you would be supporting us to accomplish.
We have explored sustainable income streams and some ideas to action, however to help this reach its full potential, we need someone with a strategic mind, who can ensure we can generate income in alignment to our mission and values. Alongside providing direct guidance of how to action this.
We would require you to set up and oversee this focus of work, though we would be able to get volunteers and members of staff to oversee the day to day deliverables. Your focus would be to oversee the important, strategic and legal requirements of this development.
We work alongside other incredible grass-roots organisations and have support from organisations such as VOSCUR and Black South West Network.
What this volunteer role involves:
* Ideation, strategic planning and development of sustainable income generation activities
* Overseeing sustainable income generation initiatives and delivery
* Support with researching funding opportunities
* Support with writing funding applications that reflect our mission, values, and deep listening approach
* Prioritising upcoming deadlines with support from the team
* Collaborating with other fundraising partners or members where needed
You might be a good fit if you:
* Are curious, empathetic, and values-aligned
* Can meet us where we’re at and help translate our story into compelling funding language
* Believe in joy, connection, and collective care
* Have experience in developing sustainable income streams for organisations outside of direct grant funding
* Have experience in grant writing, fundraising or storytelling
* Can commit about 2 days a month (ideally Monday or Thursday - flexible)
A few practicals:
* We work remotely and use a shared Drive
* We are a 100% global majority run organisation and we welcome people from all backgrounds to join us
* Allies and those with lived experience are warmly welcomed
* We do regular check-ins on capacity, access and preferences
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with demonstrated experience in developing and delivering varied income generation streams for mission-led organisations and writing successful funding or grant applications - whether in community, nonprofit, cultural, or academic settings.
You’ll be someone who can confidently identify and develop varied income streams outside of the traditional grant funding route and also be well equipped with the skills for crafting funding bids, while being aligned with our mission and values. You should feel confident leading or supporting the end-to-end process.
This is a collaborative role where you’ll help us expand our financial resources in ways that centre the voices and needs of our members.
Essential experience:
Experience identifying and pursuing new income opportunities beyond traditional grant funding
Experience developing diverse income streams, such as trading or social enterprise activity
Understanding of pricing, costing, and budgeting for income-generating activities
Bid writing or fundraising writing experience
Understanding of how to tailor proposals for different funders and funding streams (trusts, foundations, public sector, etc.)
Familiarity with the structure, tone and requirements of effective funding applications
Ability to translate community ideas and visions into fundable language and clear outcomes
Experience of being a director of a company with a focus of community
Understanding the responsibility around filing, processes and working with Companies House as a director
Skills we’re looking for:
Finance and strategic planning - for long-term organisational sustainability
Research skills - able to identify relevant income opportunities and innovative funders that align with our mission
Strong writing and editing skills - especially persuasive, clear, and values-aligned language
Confidence using shared online tools (Google Docs, Sheets, email) for remote collaboration
Time management - able to track deadlines and prioritise tasks across projects
Good communication - open to feedback and working with a team across access needs
Qualities that matter to us:
A deep listener - able to hold and reflect the values and priorities of our community
Collaborative and flexible - willing to meet us where we’re at and grow with us
Passionate about resourcing joy, care, and connection - not just survival
Values-led - grounded in feminist, disability justice, or community organising principles
Reliable and transparent - with regular check-ins on your availability and capacity
Respects our professional and lived-experience and be willing to work with us in equitable partnership
Open, honest and reliable
Understands the responsibility to our community when taking on a leadership role and prioritising this.
Our Focus and Impact
Solo women with invisible disabilities are an underserved group whose needs are routinely overlooked. The lack of systemic recognition and support contributes to poorer health, wellbeing, and economic outcomes. By centring their lived experiences, Seen Sisters not only provides vital emotional connection and practical tools, but also challenges societal assumptions around disability, independence, and womanhood. Our work helps participants feel less alone, more empowered, and better equipped to advocate for themselves, while contributing to a more inclusive and liberatory world.
Our Values:
Seeing the experience of solo women with invisible disabilities as unique
Empowering ourselves through co creation
Diversity and inclusion - (intersectionality/decolonial/lgbt plus/flexibility)
Joy and collective nourishment - decolonial, sustainability and reimagining
Collective liberation - Conscious partnerships with allies
Our Activities:
Seen Sisters supports solo women with invisible disabilities through:
Socials and Events - Joyful, accessible gatherings that build connection, reduce isolation, and centre collective care.
Lived Experience Projects - Creative, community-led work that reimagines spaces through the lens of solo disabled women.
Partnerships & Collective Care - Collaborating with organisations to design more inclusive, responsive environments and systems.
Garden Projects - Safe and accessible outdoor spaces for members to gather, connecting to each other and nature to improve wellbeing and develop skills.
What difference will you make?
We’re Seen Sisters - an intersectional feminist collective of solo women with invisible disabilities. We’re working to build joyful, connective spaces for our community, and we’re looking for a Non-executive Director to help bring our mission to life.

Trustee — Programmes
About us: Could you help us get millions of separated children Back to Family?
Orphanages don’t protect children, they harm them. Put simply: the last thing an orphanage can provide is the first thing a child needs - someone to love them.
Right now, 5.4 million children around the world are locked away in orphanages — even though over 80% of them are not orphans. Orphanages expose children to abuse and trafficking, and physical and psychological trauma that can last a lifetime. A century of evidence shows that the bond between a child and their family is what every child needs to grow, thrive and be safe.
The role
As our Programmes Trustee, you will bring senior international development or humanitarian programmes expertise to our Board, helping to strengthen the quality, scale and impact of HHC's work across nine countries. Working closely with our Chair, CEO and Director of Global Programmes, you will contribute to our ambitious 2030 goal by:
Who we are looking for
You will bring senior leadership experience in a programmes function within an NGO, multilateral organisation, government body or major funder — particularly in work with marginalised children, families and communities. Beyond that, we are looking for someone who brings:
Above all, you will share our belief that every child deserves to grow up in the love and safety of a family, and our commitment to driving that change with courage, integrity, excellence and being deeply human.
What we offer
This is a voluntary, unremunerated role. In return you will:
Time commitment
The role requires approximately 12–18 days per year, comprising:
The initial term of office is three years, with the possibility of two further three-year terms by mutual agreement.
Closing Date: The final cut off for applications is 17.00 UK time on Thursday 8 October 2026 so please get in touch if you have the right skills, experience and passion for our cause.
To apply, please upload your CV and a brief covering letter indicating why you are interested in joining the Hope and Homes for Children Board and how your experience, skills and values map to the requirements of this role.
Diversity
Hope and Homes for Children actively encourages equity, diversity and inclusion, and we look to recruit a diverse range of people to reflect the communities in which we live. We are keen to see a diverse membership of both the trustee body and committees as we believe diversity brings us closer to our mission of eliminating orphanages.
Thank you for considering this role. Every child deserves to grow up in the love and safety of a family

Roll Models CIC is a community for women and marginalised genders, built around the belief that getting outside, riding bikes and doing adventurous things together can change how we see ourselves and what we think we’re capable of.
We create welcoming pathways into cycling and outdoor adventure through mentorship, skills-sharing, and community events. Our aim is to reduce barriers to participation and help more women, trans and non-binary people build confidence, skills, independence and lasting connections through cycling and time outdoors.
In just two years, Roll Models has grown from a pilot mentorship programme of 25 participants in 2025, to a mentorship cohort twice the size with a wider community of over 100 people attending events and workshops in 2026, with demand exceeding our current capacity. We are now at an exciting point in our development: the model is working, the community is growing, and we want to build the organisational foundations to support that growth sustainably.
We are looking to convene a voluntary Steering Group to help shape the strategic direction of our fledgling organisation, with a view to formalising a Board in Spring 2027 (there will also be opportunity to continue in a supporting role, without joining the Board).

Roll Models has grown significantly in a short space of time, led by one paid member of staff with volunteer support. With demand for the programme limited by our current capacity, we are looking for someone to work alongside the Director as a mentor and sounding board, to focus on shaping the long-term strategic direction of the organisation.
Fundraising
There are many opportunities to grow the programme, and various funding pots we would like to apply for to activate this. We are looking for a savvy fundraiser to help us with fundraising strategy, identifying relevant opportunities, and supporting application processes.
You would support:
Developing a fundraising strategy
Identifying relevant funding opportunities
Feeding into and checking over applications
Working with other members (ie Communications & Marketing) to shape how we tell the story for funders
Mentorship programme (2 roles)
We are looking for an experienced community leader and cyclist who is passionate about creating safe and welcoming spaces for women, trans and non-binary people in the outdoors. You will support the strategic development and running of Roll Models' core mentorship programme, working closely with the Director on the systems and structures that will allow it to grow sustainably. This is a vital role that bridges community-building, participant experience, logistics and operations.
You would support:
Developing policies and procedures to support the running of the mentorship programme
Planning and delivering recruitment for the 2027 cohort, including reviewing and improving the participant application and matching process
Supporting safeguarding, inclusion and participant wellbeing processes
Shaping the strategic direction and future development of the mentorship programme, including thinking about how the programme can support more people without losing its community-led character
Workshops and programming
Roll Models runs regular programming and skills sessions relating to cycling and outdoor adventure, including bike mechanics, navigation, kit choices, trip planning and other practical skills. We are looking for someone who can help us think strategically about how this strand of Roll Models' work develops, in particular, accessing funding to open the workshops up beyond the current cohort. This role would help Roll Models move from delivering individual workshops towards a coherent, sustainable skills programme.
You would support:
Developing a strategic programme of skills workshops for the next 6-12 months
Identifying skills gaps and opportunities within the community
Supporting funding bids to resource the workshop programme
Developing outreach and partnerships to reach people who may not already participate in cycling or outdoor recreation
Supporting the development of inclusive and accessible workshop formats
Helping shape DEI policies and approaches for events and workshops
Exploring opportunities to develop workshops that could generate income while retaining accessible routes into participation
Communications & Marketing
Roll Models has grown organically and is increasingly attracting attention from the cycling and outdoor industries. We now want to be more strategic about how we communicate what we do and use our growing profile to create opportunities for the organisation and its community. We are looking for someone with experience in communications, marketing, storytelling or partnerships who can help us think bigger about Roll Models' position and reach.
You would support:
Developing Roll Models' strategic positioning and profile by shaping a communications and storytelling strategy
Developing content and storytelling approaches for funders and potential partners
Developing relationships with industry and community partners
Helping Roll Models communicate its impact beyond being "just" a cycling club
Identifying opportunities for media, speaking, events, festivals and other platforms that can raise the profile of Roll Models and the wider issues we work on
This is an opportunity to help shape how Roll Models is understood and positioned as it grows.
Finance and sustainability
Roll Models has begun generating income through its mentorship programme and events, alongside grant funding and industry support. As we grow, we want to develop a stronger understanding of our finances and build a model that can sustain the organisation beyond short-term grant funding. We are looking for someone with experience in financial planning, budgeting, business development, social enterprise or organisational sustainability.
You would support:
Financial planning and strategy
Developing realistic budgets and financial forecasts
Thinking strategically about income generation and pricing, and subsidising low-cost participation
Helping develop appropriate financial policies and processes
Working with the Director to understand when and how Roll Models can invest in capacity and paid roles

Trustees, including a treasurer, are needed for a leading charity helping people with dissociative disorders.
CDS UK (Clinic for Dissociative Studies) is a specialist service offering assessments and treatment for people with dissociative disorders and an independent charitable provider to the NHS.
CDS provides diagnosis, outpatient treatment, clinical supervision, consultancy and training all over the UK. We also participate in research and education, contributing to what we hope is a greater understanding of dissociative disorders.

Trustees are central to ensuring that CDS provides the best possible help for extremely vulnerable clients.
At CDS, we are committed to a culture of continuous improvement and organisational development, ensuring that our services, people, and governance evolve to meet the needs of those we support. Our work is grounded in our core values of Respect, Choice, Compassion, Openness and Working Together, which shape how we collaborate, make decisions, and deliver impact.
