Kiplin Hall and Gardens in North Yorkshire is recruiting Trustees to join the friendly and dedicated Board which oversees the management of this intriguing Jacobean house. The house was built in the 1620s for George Calvert, Secretary of State to James I, and founder of the US state of Maryland. A member of the Historic Houses Association, the Hall and Gardens welcome 40,000 visitors a year. In 2025 we opened a new Welcome Centre at Kiplin with improved retail and catering for our visitors and with the support of MEND funding undertook major repairs of the Hall roof. The National Lottery Heritage Fund enabled us to create new galleries and improve our visitor access and services. There is a dedicated staff of 10 FTE supported by a team of 240 volunteers.
TRUSTEE - We are seeking a Trustee with skills and experience in finance/accountancy to join the Board. We are keen to recruit someone who can advise the Board on its financial responsibilities and has oversight of the Trust's finances. As a Trustee you will contribute to Kiplin's business strategy and forward plan, ensuring the organisation's financial stability and sustainability. Over the next 10 years we are planning further developments to enhance the visitor experience. Join the Boards of the Mary Ward Settlement, the Mary Ward Legal Centre and the Blackfriars Settlement at a pivotal time for the charities, as the Settlement has relocated to purpose-built accommodation in Stratford. The Mary Ward Settlement has a proud heritage as part of the Settlement Movement which developed in the late 19th Century as a response to urban poverty and social problems arising from industrialisation. Mary Ward founded the Settlement in 1892 to “provide public education and social service for the benefit of the community” at a time and in an area where great wealth and great deprivation stood side by side, much as they do today – the Settlement’s work continues to be important.
Currently the Settlement delivers its services via:
· The Mary Ward Centre – an Institute of Adult Learning and an adult and community learning provider offering a wide range of learning opportunities for local and pan London residents funded primarily by the Greater London Authority. Most accredited provision is at Level 2 or below in Essential Skills (ESOL, English and Maths and Digital Skills. There is also a significant and thriving non-accredited offer of courses ranging from 12 weeks to one day workshops, the majority of which are Art and Design.
· The Mary Ward Legal Centre – providing free specialist legal advice on housing, welfare benefits and debt. We also provide free legal advice as part of our pro bono clinic in the areas of employment, housing, small claims, consumer, and family.

About The Role
As a member of the Cathedral Chapter, you will share with the Dean in the oversight of cathedral life. Chapter members are invaluable in shaping the direction of the cathedral and ensuring we continue to fulfil our mission and purpose. You will work collaboratively with clergy, staff, volunteers and external partners to uphold the cathedral’s mission, vision, values and strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities of Chapter Members
· Perform the requirements of Charity Trustees for the purposes of the Charities Act 2011.
· Take full part in the discussions and decision making of the Chapter as it fulfils its statutory responsibilities to exercise general control and management of the administration of the cathedral.
· Order the worship of the cathedral and promote its mission;

· Ensure the preparation and approval of an annual report and accounts for audit and subsequent approval.
· Keep under review the Constitution and Statutes.

· Attend Chapter meetings, held a minimum of six time a year for approximately three hours on a weekday afternoon, including one all-day away-day (all held in Birmingham City Centre).

· Contribute to the ministry of hospitality offered at the cathedral, and other cathedral activities as may be appropriate.

We provide professional, low cost counselling and mental health support for people who cannot get the help they need through the NHS and cannot afford to pay for private therapy. You will hear testimonies of adults and teenagers who have had their lives turned around because of Wellspring. The Finance Trustee plays a vital role in keeping our organisation on track by ensuring accounts are kept up to date and accurately, having oversight of all our financial matters and providing forecasting to help keep the charity viable and sustainable.
The Finance Trustee should be or have been a finance professional preferably with experience in accounting. You will keep in contact with the Director and Administrator regularly (1-2 times per month), and meet with the other friendly and caring Board of Trustees once every two months to report on our finances.

procedures and controls are in place.

Carers Support is looking for a new Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and support the next stage of our development. This is an important voluntary role for someone with strong board or senior governance experience who wants to make a real difference to unpaid carers.

We are an independent charity supporting thousands of unpaid carers of all ages across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. We provide advice, information, practical help, emotional support, training, young carers services and more.

As Chair of Trustees, you will:

About the Role
The Chair will provide strategic leadership to the Board, ensuring effective governance, sound decision-making and a clear focus on Mind in Salford’s charitable purpose.
In this role, you will lead and develop an effective, inclusive and high-performing Board, Chair meetings, build a strong, constructive relationship with the Chief Executive and represent the Charity and help develop relationships with key partners and supporters.
About You
They are looking for someone with senior strategic leadership experience and a strong understanding of charity governance, who can lots of emotional intelligence and sound judgement to the role.
You will bring:
Experience of working with a charity Board or in a senior non-executive role.
A strong understanding of the duties and responsibilities of charity Trustees.
The ability to chair meetings effectively, build consensus and manage challenging conversations.
Experience of providing strategic oversight of finance, risk and organisational performance.
Strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
A genuine commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
Knowledge of health and social care, or a related sector, would be valuable. A connection to Salford and its communities is also important.
Commitment
The Board meets every two months, alongside a Finance sub-committee which meets four times a year. Trustees are expected to prepare for meetings, review papers in advance and contribute actively to Board discussions. As Chair you will be expected to meet regularly with the CEO and provide support outside of the formal meeting structure.
This is a voluntary position, although reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed. The initial term is three years, with a maximum of three terms.
