Help young people with an affinity for mathematics discover where it can take them.
We're looking for a Careers + Employer Partnerships Manager to help University Maths Schools prepare young people with an affinity for mathematics for ambitious futures.
This is an opportunity to join a small, ambitious charity at an exciting stage of its development. You'll do this by building employer partnerships, developing national careers intelligence and creating a national centre of expertise that every University Maths School can draw upon.
If you enjoy connecting people, spotting opportunities and helping young people make informed choices about their futures, we'd love to hear from you.
Why U-Maths?
U-Maths is the national charity for University Maths Schools.
Our vision is that every young person with an affinity for mathematics can thrive and succeed.
Our mission is to advance excellence and equity in mathematics education by strengthening and growing the national network of University Maths Schools.
There are currently nine state-funded University Maths Schools, each established in partnership with a leading university and specialising in mathematics and the mathematical sciences for students aged 16–19. The network continues to grow, with two further schools in Nottingham and Durham due to open.
Together, these schools are helping more young people – particularly those from backgrounds currently under-represented in the mathematical sciences – to access an outstanding mathematics education and progress to ambitious futures.
Why this role?
No single school can maintain deep expertise across the rapidly changing landscape of mathematical STEM careers.
That's why U-Maths works nationally.
As our Careers + Employer Partnerships Manager, you'll build the employer relationships, careers intelligence and national expertise that help every University Maths School give students outstanding information, advice and guidance about mathematical STEM pathways.
About the role
You'll lead U-Maths' work to strengthen careers education and employer engagement across the network.
Working closely with schools, employers, universities and alumni, you'll build partnerships, develop careers insight, support careers and UCAS leads, create high-quality resources and lead national careers opportunities that individual schools would find difficult to create alone.
You'll help schools understand the skills, qualifications and experiences valued by mathematical employers, ensuring that careers advice, university guidance, research projects and enrichment activities are informed by current sector insight.
What you'll be doing
You'll:
About you
You'll enjoy this role if you like building relationships, understanding emerging opportunities and helping other people make informed decisions.
You might have developed your skills in careers education, employer engagement, widening participation, partnerships, outreach, higher education, the charity sector or another setting where helping young people understand and access opportunity matters. We're more interested in the relationships you build, the insight you bring and the opportunities you create than in where you have gained them.
We're looking for someone who:
Why join us?
You'll be joining a small national team with the opportunity to build something that benefits schools across the UK and helps more young people with an affinity for mathematics thrive and succeed.
We offer:
We're aiming for the successful candidate to start on 1 December 2026, with some flexibility.

About The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) is an independent membership organisation dedicated to the education, training and advancement of surgeons, dental surgeons, doctors, and various individuals throughout healthcare who are involved in the surgical care of patients. The College has a current membership approaching 33,000 and growing, with members spanning over 100 countries around the world. From our founding in 1505, the College has been committed to the advancement of surgery and driving patient safety standards worldwide. In our 520 year history, there has never been a better time to join the College than now.
Working with us
At the College we aim to embrace views from across the organisation, sharing common goals and values for the betterment of healthcare through the advancement of surgical and dental professionals. We aim to develop teams that are reflective of the needs of our members and maximise the potential of every employee. To reflect the varying needs across the organisation, we offer a range of policies and benefits for our workforce including 42 day annual leave, flexible working practices, enhanced employer pensions contribution and various discounts throughout the College including the Ten Hill Place Hotel, 1505 Café and free entry to Surgeons' Hall Museums.
About the Role
Surgeons' Hall Museum holds a complex medical human remains collection, one of the largest and most significant of its kind in the world. Much of the collection was acquired before modern standards of consent and documentation, and the records that survive were shaped around pathology, diagnosis and the interests of those who assembled the collection rather than the individuals represented within it.
This two year project will improve what the Museum knows about this collection, including the people in it. Working through historic catalogues, medical case notes, College and Museum minutes and archival records, you will investigate origins, acquisition contexts and life histories of these people, and integrate your findings into the Museum's Collections Management System. Your research will inform catalogue records, future interpretation and displays, published listings, and the Museum's preparedness for any future return of collections.
In March 2026, the College’s Trustees approved a new Human Remains in Collections Policy, developed with an expert panel drawn from across the UK and Ireland, committing the Museum to provenance research, transparency, community engagement and readiness for return. This post directly supports the work to put this policy into practice.
You will report to the Curator and be supported by the Museum's Provenance Research Working Group, which brings together colleagues from collections, conservation, archives, learning and senior leadership, including a specialist Human Remains Conservator. This work involves sustained engagement with sensitive and sometimes distressing material, and supervision, peer support and training are built into the post.
In the final six months you will work on site with three Scottish university medical collections in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, reviewing and enhancing their documentation, and will offer short consultancy visits to smaller Scottish museums holding human remains. The project concludes with a publication and a national conference at Surgeons' Hall, sharing the methods and findings across the sector.
The role is based in Edinburgh, with travel to partner institutions in the final phase. Reasonable travel and accommodation costs are met by the project.
Experience, Qualifications and Key Skills
You will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, such as history, anthropology, archaeology, medicine, pathology or museum studies, or hold equivalent professional experience, and have proven experience conducting research using historical records, archives or museum collections. You will understand the ethical issues surrounding human remains in museum or academic contexts and be comfortable working with confidential or ethically complex material. You will have experience working with collections databases and digital cataloguing systems such as Axiell or equivalent and be familiar with documentation standards and terminology audits.
You will have excellent analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage large volumes of complex data, and the ability to produce high quality written outputs including reports, summaries and catalogue entries. You will be self-motivated, able to plan and carry out independent research, and a clear and confident communicator in both verbal and written formats. Experience of provenance research, knowledge of UK museum policies relating to human remains and repatriation, or experience working with medical, anatomical, ethnographical, or archaeological human remains collections would be advantageous.
This role may particularly appeal to those who want to work on collections of real ethical complexity and see their findings shape policy, practice and public understanding.
Our thanks
This project, Recovering Histories: The McNab Human Remains Provenance Research Project, is made possible by Museums Galleries Scotland and by a generous legacy from John Winton McNab. We are grateful to both for backing work that is complex, long-term and genuinely needed.

The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) has an unswerving commitment to high-quality, evidence-informed teacher education and is on a mission to improve the quality of teacher and leader development across the system.
About the role
At the National Institute of Teaching, we are working to improve the quality of teacher and leader development at a system level. We believe teaching is a fundamental societal good, a privilege and a responsibility, and we are looking for a Graphic Designer who will play a key role in shaping and delivering the visual identity of the National Institute.

Are you a strategic and decisive fundraising leader ready to use your skills and talents so that everyone can know Jesus through the Bible?
At Wycliffe Bible Translators, growth is accelerating, with individual giving up 36% and legacy pledgers doubling to 440 over the last three years. This means supporting more Bible translators, growing local churches, and transforming lives. Remarkably, more Bibles have been translated in the past 30 years than in the previous 2,000. Yet, 1 in 5 people worldwide remain underserved without God’s word in their language. We have ambitious plans to exponentially expand individual giving from £1.35m to £5.6m by 2032, built on strong foundations, team enthusiasm, and expert agency engagement.
As Director for Supporters, you will provide pivotal fundraising leadership to build long-term support through regular giving and legacies while valuing donors deeply. You will guide and empower a motivated team within a genuinely remote-first organisation, recognised in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list. If you want your leadership to help us say ‘Yes!’ to supporting more Bible translators worldwide, we encourage you to apply.
Key responsibilities:
Grow individual giving income exponentially from £1.35m to £5.6m by 2032, with a focus on regular giving
Pilot, test and scale fundraising products that meet donors needs
Achieve exceptional donor retention rates through shaping a culture of fundraising that puts the supporter at the heart
Lead and empower a talented team and collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver high performance
Benefits include:
It is an occupational requirement of this role that you have a clear, personal commitment to the beliefs set out in our Statement of Faith and Doctrinal Position Statement.
To apply, visit our careers site and complete the short online application, attaching your CV and a covering letter (no more than two pages) summarising why you’re applying, how you meet the person specification, and telling us about your personal Christian journey and church involvement.
