We are looking for a Programmes Officer to work closely on our international programmes supporting older people and people with disabilities in Eastern Europe. The role involves supporting the administration and project management of our large portfolio of 33 projects, working with our local partners to monitor implementation and capture data and impact. Part of the role is acting as a focal point for fundraising and communication teams, sharing key project updates to assist with their income-raising and engagement activities. 

You will join our International Programmes team, which is responsible for delivering programmes through strong local partnerships across our Humanitarian and Climate, Older People and Livelihood Development portfolios.

You should have:

• Knowledge of Eastern Europe region/context with focus on Ukraine
• Experience in the international development/ charitable sector
• Experience of remote working with overseas partners
• Demonstrable experience of maintaining Monitoring and Evaluation processes in international development programming
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong numerical skills and ability to analyse and interpret data

As part of our Grounds and Woodland Team, you will undertake a diverse range of practical responsibilities to ensure our memorial forests are accessible, well-maintained, and thriving ecosystems. The role requires balancing environmental stewardship with compassionate support for visiting families.

Key Responsibilities

Memorial Forest Maintenance
Carry out seasonal tasks including grass cutting, meadow management, hedge cutting, and tree pruning. Daily maintenance tasks include planting medium to large trees and caring for them over time, as well as installing memorial benches and plaques.

Memorial Tree Dedications
Planting and preparing the memorial trees, and assist families during tree dedication ceremonies, offering guidance and respectful support during sensitive occasions.

Planting and Conservation
Plant trees and manage woodland areas in line with the charity’s environmental objectives and long-term sustainability plans.

Public Engagement
Interact professionally with visitors, explain the charity’s mission, and provide assistance where required.

Health and Safety
Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with current health and safety legislation and best practice.

Equipment Management
Operate and maintain groundskeeping tools and machinery safely and efficiently.

Collaborative Projects
Work alongside volunteers, families and community groups during planting events and engagement activities.

Adaptability & Responsive Working
This role requires the ability to respond positively to changing priorities. Daily tasks may need to change at short notice due to weather conditions, urgent site issues, health and safety concerns, or family visits. The UCL Dementia Research Centre (DRC), based in the Department of Neurodegenerative Disease and led by Professor Nick Fox, is a hub for clinical research into various forms of dementia. Our work focuses on identifying and understanding the disease processes that cause dementia, the factors that influence these disease processes, and how best to support people with dementia and their families. In addition to our research, we also provide a cognitive disorders clinic within the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

Rare Dementia Support (RDS) is a UCL-led collaborative service offering specialist social, emotional and practical support services for individuals living with, or affected by, a rare dementia diagnosis. Our vision is for all individuals with, at risk of, or supporting someone with one of these forms of dementia to have access to information, tailored support and guidance, and contact with others affected by similar conditions. RDS is provided by the UCL Dementia Research Centre (DRC) at the Queen Square Institute of Neurology and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery - where the post is based - and partners, and funded by The National Brain Appeal.

You will contribute to the work of the Rare Dementia Support (RDS) direct support team providing advice via support calls and in-person at the new Rare Dementia Support Centre (RDSC) by supporting people living with atypical, inherited, and young onset dementias, their carers, their families, and their friends, and professionals and practitioners working to support them. This role includes the opportunity to shape and direct special projects related to the development of new support groups, professional training, or patient and public involvement/engagement (PPI/E), in line with the activities of RDS and the wider Dementia Research Centre.

This post is offered on a hybrid basis with the expectation that you will be on site or at agreed regional work locations for 60-80% of your working week. You will also be expected to occasionally work on Saturdays and some evenings to attend support group-related activities which are usually held off-site in central London (but may require business travel). You will have an Honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant health-related discipline and experience delivering pre-, peri-, and post-diagnostic rare dementia support. Extensive and expert knowledge of atypical, inherited, and young onset dementias, and up to date knowledge of the range of support available to people living with rare dementia and their families, and relevant aspects of the health and social care systems in the UK is essential.

The Volunteer and Stakeholder Engagement Officer will play a key role in strengthening Stepping Stones North Wales’ capacity, reach and financial sustainability by recruiting, supporting and retaining volunteers, and by building positive, effective relationships with key stakeholders across North Wales. Volunteer Engagement

ABOUT THE JOB

Job Purpose 

We are looking for an exemplary people-oriented administrator to provide administrative support to the Gestalt Centre CEO and the workstreams she manages. An important role in the organisation, working with senior leadership and across teams, in a welcoming and supportive environment with opportunities to learn and grow on the job.

Areas of work and responsibility

• Administrative Support to the Gestalt Centre CEO
• Coordinate and support projects and workstreams the CEO leads on: Operations, Communications and Marketing, Short Courses and Post Graduate Qualifications, HR, Finance, Policies, Fundraising and Health & Safety.
• Liaise with the CEO and the leadership team to update the organisational plan and workstream plans, also keep track of relevant priority actions and progress.

• Provide administrative support to the organising and running fundraising activities and events.

About the role:

As an IDVA you will:-

• Ensure that male survivors' safety and housing needs are met by supporting survivors to access safe accommodation
• Provide a pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
• Promote the service and raising awareness of issues arising, minimising barriers and improving access to support

You will need:

• Experience of providing support those affected by domestic abuse
• An understanding of the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
