About us 

The Ben Kinsella Trust is one of the UK’s leading anti-knife crime charities. We were set up following the tragic murder of 16-year-old Ben Kinsella in 2008, and everything we do is guided by his legacy. Our mission is to prevent knife crime through education and campaigning. 

Ben was a kind, creative young person who loved art, music, Arsenal FC, and making people laugh. He had big dreams of becoming a graphic designer. His death was a senseless act of violence, and the outpouring of grief and public support that followed marked the start of a movement. Ben’s own words, written shortly before his death, called for change, and his voice continues to inspire our work.  

Through immersive workshops in our Choices and Consequences Exhibitions and free online resources, we have reached over 50,000 young people so far. Our work challenges myths about knife crime, strengthens peer influence, and sparks meaningful conversations. As we grow, we remain committed to honouring Ben’s life by making a real, lasting difference to young people across the UK.  

We’re a small but growing team of 11 (rising to 14), working across Programmes, Fundraising, Communications, Finance and Operations, and Leadership. Our Programmes team is supported by a brilliant pool of freelance facilitators and actors who help bring our workshops to life. We’re now looking for an Youth Programmes Officer to join us at this exciting time. About the Role 

We are looking for an education or youth work professional who can deliver our programmes to a very high standard. You will be a skilled facilitator and communicator who can engage with young people from a diverse range of backgrounds. Additionally, we are seeking someone who shares our values and is passionate about using education as a tool to support and empower young people and to stop knife crime. 

As Youth Programmes Officer you will be responsible for the delivery and coordination of our flagship knife crime prevention workshops to young people, to a high standard. You will work alongside the Programmes team to ensure workshops at our London exhibitions (currently Islington and Barking & Dagenham) operate smoothly and consistently to serve young people through the achievement of quality outcomes and maximised engagement. You will play a key part in the delivery of our Youth Ambassador Programme and contribute to the development of new programmes and opportunities during an exciting period of growth for the charity.  

Key Responsibilities 

Programme delivery

• Deliver workshops to a range of groups (primary, secondary, PRU/AP and adults), adapting to different needs
• Ensure sessions are engaging, high quality, and responsive to feedback

Programme development

• Gather and analyse feedback to improve programmes
• Support the development of new projects and resources

Workshop coordination

• Coordinate day-to-day delivery across two sites
• Manage bookings, enquiries and pre-visit information
• Maintain strong relationships with schools and partners
• Keep CRM and booking systems up to date
• Coordinate freelance facilitators and support their onboarding and training

What you’ll do

The Head of Employer Partnerships role is to make sure we achieve our partner growth, resubscription and revenue targets. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving sales excellence within the team, and ensuring a sky high resubscription rate. You’ll also establish and develop relationships with partner networks who can help us raise our profile in the early careers space, and secure opportunities to share our data insights with emerging talent and CSR audiences. 

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the Employers team to achieve their objectives, including increasing our partner base, the diversity of our employer partners, and hitting revenue and resubscription targets.

• Shadow the Employer Partnerships Managers on demos and check-in calls. Share best practice, give feedback and support the team to perform as best they can.

• Support the Employer Engagement Coordinator and Partnerships Managers with account management processes and look for ways to improve return on investment for partners.

• Work closely with the New Business Lead to build prospecting campaigns and achieve demo targets.

• Conduct performance reviews and support the team with their development goals.

• Be the point person for escalation of issues related to partners at a high risk of being lost/that have expressed a desire to end their partnership with us.

• Establish and develop lasting partnerships with leading networks in the early careers space.

• Be responsible for the sales and partner retention for a small number of employers, with the responsibilities of an Employer Partnerships Manager.

• Lead on in-person and online events, working closely with our Events and Marketing teams to deliver outstanding and impactful experiences for our employer partners, teacher, student and parent audiences.

Working together

You will line manage the Employer Partnerships Managers and Employer Engagement Coordinator. You’ll work closely with the New Business Lead, Data and UK school and colleges teams, and liaise with the Marketing and Events team on the promotion of events and collateral required.

Key details

• £52,000 per annum (Grade D) pro rata, plus commission from employer partnerships in your portfolio and performance-related incentives. (OTE £57,000 per annum, pro rata).

About the Role

Rough sleeping pathways only work when the system around people moves with urgency, consistency and accountability. This role is about making sure people sleeping rough, or at risk of returning to the streets, are not left waiting, drifting between services, or losing accommodation because barriers have not been gripped quickly enough.

As Outreach Housing Pathway Coordinator, you will work within Camden’s integrated Rough Sleeping and Outreach Hub to help people access and sustain appropriate accommodation. You will hold oversight of where people are in their housing journey, identify what is blocking progress, and work with outreach teams, Navigators, hostels, pathway providers, community safety partners and statutory services to keep plans moving.

You will focus on the points where pathways can break down: delays, exclusions, unsuitable offers, unresolved risks, street activity linked to accommodation, or support needs that have not yet been fully understood or responded to. Through assertive engagement, practical case coordination and strong partnership working, you will help people stabilise their accommodation and reduce the risk of returning to rough sleeping.

Working within Camden’s No Wrong Door model, you will bring grip, judgement and persistence to complex situations, ensuring people experiencing multiple disadvantage receive a response that is joined-up, trauma-informed and focused on lasting routes away from the street. SHP will support you with the training, reflective practice and development opportunities needed to continue building your expertise in this work.

About you:

• You understand that people experiencing rough sleeping are often navigating trauma, exclusion, unmet needs and systems that have not worked for them. You bring patience, persistence and a clear belief that people should not be written off when engagement is difficult.
• You know how homelessness pathways, outreach services and supported accommodation can work together, and you can spot where delays, exclusions or gaps in communication are putting someone’s route away from the street at risk.
• You are confident working with complexity. You can hold risk, need and accountability together, making balanced decisions while keeping people’s safety, dignity and long-term accommodation sustainment at the centre.
• You build relationships that help things move. Whether you are speaking with someone on the street, a hostel, a Navigator, a statutory service or a community safety partner, you communicate clearly, follow through on actions and keep people focused on solutions.

About the role

We are looking for someone solutions-focussed with expertise in delivering needs-led specialist support services to be our new National LGBT+ Independent Sexual Violence Advocate.

This role builds on work that we have been doing for decades to support and empower LGBT+ people who have experienced sexual violence. Your work will enable LGBT+ people to feel supported, heard and empowered in the face of abuse and violence, and pave the way to a safer future for our community.

You will work directly with LGBT+ victims/survivors, offering them a space to talk and think through options, helping them plan what they want to do, and offering assistance in getting what they need from services. Your work will focus on needs specifically related experiences of sexual violence, including issues such as wellbeing, support with the criminal and civil justice process, safety and access to other services to enable survivors to cope and recover. You will be empathetic and thoughtful in your approach to understanding your clients’ needs, while remaining boundaried and mindful of self-care.

You will sit alongside our other advocates supporting LGBT+ people facing abuse or violence. You will work with mainstream services to ensure the voices and experiences of LGBT+ survivors are represented in order to make change for our community at a local and national level. You will also work closely with key partner organisations by attending meetings and have the opportunity to take part in external work to ensure a joined-up approach among services working with LGBT+ people facing abuse and violence.

You will be a finance professional with significant experience in either commercial or NGO environments, including preparation of business planning in complex scenarios and multiple currencies. Do you have a passion for working with people and the ability to empathise with others?

Working as a Night Concierge, you will provide a first point of contact and safeguarding to clients at night. You will be responsible for dealing with emergencies, undertaking regular health and safety checks on patrols, basic cleaning and through monitoring the CCTV system; you will also report incidents or maintenance issues and communicate any concerns or events to the rest of the team.

Birkenhead Street is a 31-bed hostel. There is also one emergency bed space which is used by the Camden Safer Street team to move people directly off the street. Our main client group is homeless people 19+ (male and female) including rough sleepers, ) with varied support needs.  Birkenhead Street is staffed 24/7 with a combination of Project workers, Night workers, Night Concierges and a small Management team.

Shift pattern will be 4 nights on, 4 nights off, 9.30pm-7.30am (10-hour shifts, no break). This will be working alongside a Night Worker.

About you

We are looking for people with good communication skills and an understanding of the issues that affect homeless or vulnerable adults. You will need to be able to interact with clients in a positive and friendly manner, and be passionate about working in a service that supports vulnerable adults. In addition to this;

• You should have a basic level of numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to use your initiative; to identify the appropriate action to take in various situations.
• You’ll also be expected to be punctual, awake and alert at all times during your shift and act with integrity, within our policies and procedures.

About you:

THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly organised, agile and structured Senior Programmes Manager to lead the operational planning, project management and execution of our flagship educational programmes. In this role, you will be the operational engine behind multiple cross-departmental projects, with a focus on meeting the needs of our global teachers and students, as well as funders.

In this fixed-term role you will work closely with our educational content leads, designers and external stakeholders to ensure our high-impact classroom resources and live events are delivered seamlessly, on time and to the highest standard. Rather than drafting the pedagogy yourself, you will manage the project lifecycles, coordinate workflow across internal and external teams and optimise the systems that allow our world-class educational programmes to reach over 1 million young people globally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project and operational management

• Manage the Topical Talk Leadership for Change Prize, Live Lessons, curriculum modules and student workshops end-to-end: from roadmaps and capacity mapping through to impact and evaluation
• Project manage the filming required for our content delivery, including the booking and management of experts, production teams and Economist colleagues
• Track and coordinate progress across content creators, graphic designers, proofreaders and editors to ensure all deliverables meet tight production deadlines
• Balance team workloads across concurrent educational projects and plan capacity for incoming projects
• Continuously refine workflow processes to streamline resource creation and evaluation

Programme governance and evaluation

• Partner with the Director of Programmes to track key performance indicators (KPIs), evaluate audience reach and maintain rigorous data collection for monitoring and evaluating our programmes
• Proactively identify bottlenecks, content risks or scheduling delays, implementing swift mitigation strategies to keep delivery on track

Live Lesson and workshop operations

• Manage the end-to-end operational execution of student workshops and our Live Lessons – handling scheduling, platform setups and logistics
• Coordinate school visits for content testing and observation, ensuring all safeguarding and operational requirements are fully met

Stakeholder and relationship coordination

• Serve as the primary operational point of contact for external topic experts, guest contributors, and editorial contributors from The Economist Group
• Maintain clear lines of communication between the programmes team, marketing, operations and external partners to ensure projects are aligned with strategic aims
• Manage external freelance contractors and vendors, with support from the administrative officer
