We are looking for a part time Training Standards Officer (21 hours per week) to work in the Learning Directorate at the Royal College of Pathologists. This role is key to support our members by facilitating the maintenance of specialty postgraduate curricula in seven pathology specialties and subspecialties, as well as ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements of the GMC.
This role will project manage the quality assurance processes for training qualifications our members complete as part of their professional development. Your role will be to review and update the curricula for all College qualifications and provide regular reports for both internal and external bodies. We are looking for a strong administrator who can plan and implement a timetable for regular reviews of curricula by committees, ensuring compliance with timelines/deadlines as required.
The Royal College of Pathologists is a professional membership organisation with charitable status concerned with all matters relating to the science and practice of pathology. The College oversees the training of pathologists and scientists working in 17 different specialties, which include cellular pathology, haematology, clinical biochemistry and medical microbiology.
Although some pathologists work in laboratories, many work directly with patients in hospitals and the community. Together, they are involved in the majority of all diagnoses and play an important role in disease prevention, treatment, and monitoring. If you have ever had a blood test, cervical smear or tissue biopsy, a pathologist will have been involved in your care.

They are now recruiting for a Support Service Manager (initially on a 6 month fixed term contract), to oversee a small team of Employability Coaches providing person-centred support to a caseload of women, helping to get them ‘work ready’.
As Support Service Manager you will oversee a small team of 4 and will support your team in building trusting relationships with the women in their caseload, helping to equip service users with the skills, tools and mindsets in order to secure and sustain employment. You will hold a small caseload of around 5-10 women and will ensure that new cases are allocated, and caseload volumes are managed in a way that mitigates the need for a waiting list, while being within colleague’s capacity. You will manage case reviews with team members on an as-needed basis and will act as Designated Safeguarding Lead to promote a safeguarding culture, providing advice and guidance on occasional safeguarding matters, supported by two Designated Safeguarding Officers.

You will have experience of managing and supporting staff and will have a good understanding of the criminal justice system and an awareness of the needs of women with convictions in particular. The role
The Legacy and In Memory Manager is responsible for developing and delivering plans to maximise gifts in wills and in memory giving, ensuring a sustainable income stream for the charity whilst providing exceptional levels of supporter care. This role will oversee the administration of legacies, drive the growth of the charity's Free Wills programme, steward legacy pledgers, and expand in memory fundraising.
The Legacy and In Memory Manager will also ensure supporter journeys, audience insight and effective targeting are at the heart of the charity's programme, working with the Individual Giving and Development Lead to create impactful marketing campaigns across a variety of channels.
You will play an important part in raising awareness of the importance of wills to a wider audience.
About You
As a Legacy and In Memory Manager we would love you to have experience of the following

The Role
The Marketing and Communications Manager is a core role. You will work directly with the Head of Content and Communications (HoC) and Creative Content Designer and Animator on the delivery of a communications strategy focused on increasing visibility and impact.

Job Purpose:
The main purpose of this role is to lead and coordinate communications activities across the Society’s policy and external affairs activities, ensuring that our work is communicated strategically and visible to appropriate audiences.
Key responsibilities:
Understanding opportunities and the changing external environment
- Develop our understanding of the preferences and needs of our key internal and external audiences to better align our policy and external affairs communications to those preferences and needs.

Working for the RSS
Pension and benefits
Our defined contribution pension scheme can be joined after three months in post. Your contributions of up to 8% of salary will be double matched by the Society (making a maximum contribution by the Society of 16%). A training budget, season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme and employee assistance programme are also available.
Location
The RSS office is in central London. We offer flexible working arrangements, and this is a hybrid role with a minimum two days a week working in the office. In person attendance for certain meeting is required, including all-staff / team meetings and governance / committee meetings that take place in person. Limited travel within the UK and internationally may be required.
Working hours

About GMYF
GMYF is a long-established charity that works with young people across Greater Manchester to support their aspirations and create opportunities. We deliver a year-round programme of recreational and educational opportunities to young people within our stand-alone Centres as well as providing support to affiliated clubs.
GMYF opened our first youth centre in Partington in September 2022 and a second youth centre in Charlestown in July 2024. These Centres provide an ambitious and enriching curriculum for young people with a wide range of activities. We also jointly own an Outdoors Activities Centre in Cumbria – Ormside Mill. GMYF took on a management function for Norbrook Youth Centre, Wythenshaw from 1st May 2025, a previous affiliate member.

Youth Activites Lead - Main Purpose of the job
To lead day to day operations providing a ‘hands-on’ management role to play & youth workers, oversight of external providers delivering activities to young people at Norbrook. Leading and implementing an enriching youth work curriculum, quality assurance and health and safety standards, providing outstanding outcomes young people. Working with external partners and attending partnership meetings.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:
1. Provide curriculum and quality assurance framework for youth work at Norbrook, providing a vibrant enriching offer for young people including youth voice and residential activities
2. Provide regular one-to-one support, coaching and appraisal of direct reports including Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
3. Support the centre self-evaluation process to inform GMYF Self Improvement Plan
4. Support the wider running of the charity though attendance at meetings and events
5. Complete small scale funding bids to enhance the centre youth offer
Health and Safety:
1. Ensure centres meet health and safety standards/regulations including daily site checks, kitchen hygiene, risk assessments, fire drills, accident, and complaints logs
2. Provide clear guidance to centre staff and user groups on safe and compliant systems to ensure a safe, fit for purpose centre
3. Oversee all off-site trips and visits ensuring they are risk assessed, supervised, staff are briefed and staff understand their roles and responsibilities
4. Ensure a record of young people, staff and visitors on site is maintained
5. Manage a programme of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPE) ensuring centre remains compliant with current H&S requirements e.g. PAT testing, hygiene, shutters
6. Manage centre Assets Register

Curriculum/Safeguarding/Achievements:

What you will be doing:

- Manage applications for individual and corporate membership, including working with the Admissions Committee to approve new applications and ensure the journey from application to member runs smoothly.

- Create and share reports from member data for various internal stakeholders including the Membership Manager, Operations Manager, Association Council and the EDI working group.
- Troubleshoot system issues that may arise (notably in relation to members’ data, access, payments etc), working with the Membership Manager and our systems technical support.
