Amref’s programmes focus on: child health and nutrition; communicable and non-communicable diseases; health financing; maternal, newborn health; neglected tropical diseases; sexual and reproductive health and rights; and water and sanitation and hygiene. Our programmes align with our Global Strategy objectives: to increase primary healthcare access for all, and to address the social determinants of health. These are the factors that influence people’s health, from their access to education, to their gender, and their exposure to the impacts of climate change.
Amref Health Africa UK (Amref UK) is an independent UK-registered NGO that exists to support the programme and policy activities of Amref. With a UK-based Board of Trustees and staff team, our main purpose in the UK is to develop and manage partnerships with UK donors who want to support Amref’s work in Africa. This is a significant part of the organisation’s overall Supporter Engagement Strategy which focuses specifically on unrestricted income generation. This role will raise unrestricted income through the development of Amref UK’s Major Gifts programme - the Mbele Movement - by identifying and cultivating new high net worth supporters, and inspiring them to make unrestricted, multi-year major gifts, in line with the Philanthropy Strategy. About ThinkForward: Why we exist
ThinkForward exists to empower young people to create better and brighter futures. We want them to be able to identify, realise and shape their aspirations and be ready to make a successful transition into work.

In an ever changing world we support them to prepare for their move to adulthood, the working world and the start of the rest of their lives.
Overview of the role
Our Development Manager will play a key role in supporting ThinkForward to achieve ambitious growth targets and deliver on our mission to support young people facing challenges to build a brighter, better future.
You will work flexibly across all income streams to identify and convert high-value funding opportunities from trusts and foundations, corporate partners and high-net-worth individuals, as well as supporting excellent stewardship for our existing funders. You will bring technical excellence in relation to the highest standard of compelling application and report writing, and you will develop strong relationships internally to facilitate a collaborative approach to income generation. Ideally, you will also bring expertise in at least one of ThinkForward’s identified income streams. The Development Manager will be comfortable working with healthy pressure within a supportive and collaborative team culture and will be able to maintain a high level of productivity, pace and resilience in what is a challenging funding environment.

Citizens UK and the NRPF Partnership
Citizens UK
We are Citizens UK. We’re working together to make change on the issues that matter, from campaigning for zebra crossings on dangerous roads, to reforming the immigration system, to the Living Wage campaign.
We bring together everyday people and local organisations to build a better, fairer society. Too often communities are left out of decisions that affect their lives, but we know everyday people have the ability to shape the world around them. We develop local leaders who find solutions to problems big and small and hold power-holders to account.
We work with hundreds of civil society organisations, who we call our members - schools, universities, faith groups, charities, unions and more - to help them win change. Over the last 30 years, we’ve worked in alliance with 500+ members, trained 4,000+ community leaders, accredited 13,000 Living Wage employers, and won hundreds of campaigns.
NRPF Partnership
The NRPF partnership was set up in 2023 and is being developed by Citizens UK, Migration Exchange, and Praxis.
