Fundraising marketing and communications manager volunteer roles

Do you have a flair for communication and a desire to help us reach more people?

As a Marketing & Communications Assistant, you will work closely with the Project Leader to spread the word about our amazing Akioke Karaoke Confidence Club. You'll help us promote the club to potential members, volunteers, and the wider community, ensuring its success and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Creation: Assist the Project Leader draft engaging text for promotional materials (flyers, social media posts, website content).
• Social Media Support: Help schedule and post content on relevant social media platforms (e.g., Facebook groups, local community pages).
• Community Outreach: Identify local community groups, centres, schools, and organisations that could benefit from our club, and assist with distributing promotional materials.
• Information Gathering: Research relevant online forums, notice boards, and events where we can promote the club.
• Feedback Collection: Assist in gathering testimonials or feedback from members (with appropriate consent) to use in promotional efforts.
• Administrative Support: Help organise and maintain marketing materials and contact lists.

We're Looking For Someone Who Is:

• Creative and has a good eye for engaging content.
• Organised and attentive to detail.
• Familiar with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram).
• Able to communicate clearly and concisely in writing.
• Proactive and able to take initiative with guidance.

• Previous experience in marketing, communications, or social media is a bonus but not essential – a willingness to learn is most important!

Time Commitment: Flexible, approximately 2-4 hours per week, with tasks that can often be completed remotely or during mutually agreed-upon times, in collaboration with the Project Leader.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive, confident, and relationship driven Volunteer Partnerships & Growth Manager to identify, approach, and onboard affiliate partners, collaborators, agents, and other supporters who can help expand the reach of the platform.

This role focuses on building a strong network of individuals and organisations who can introduce creators, promote campaigns, or otherwise support the growth of Influential Stars.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and approach potential affiliate partners, collaborators, agents, and networks

• Introduce individuals and organisations to the platform and explain how they can get involved

• Support onboarding of new collaborators and affiliates

• Build and maintain positive relationships with partners and introducers

• Encourage ongoing engagement and participation

• Maintain regular communication to nurture long term partnerships

• Coordinate with internal team members to ensure smooth onboarding

• Provide clear information about roles, expectations, and opportunities

• Maintain accurate records of outreach and partnerships using our CRM management system

• Represent the organisation professionally in all communications

Skills and Experience Required

Essential:

• Experience in outreach, partnerships, business development, or relationship building

• Excellent customer service skills

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

• Confidence communicating by phone, email, and online platforms

• Strong networking ability and proactive approach

• Strong IT skills, including confident use of computer databases and standard office software (e.g. Word, Excel)

• Experience using a CRM or similar database system

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple contacts

• Professional, reliable, and personable manner

Desirable:

• Familiarity with HubSpot CRM (preferred but not essential as training will be provided)

• Experience in affiliate programmes, partnerships, or community building

• Experience working remotely within a team

• Interest in charitable or social impact work

• Based in London or Hertfordshire for occasional in person meetings (not essential)

Working Arrangement

• Fully remote position

• Flexible working hours depending on organisational needs

• No travel required. However, if you choose to meet with partners in person, reasonable travel costs will be covered where possible

Although this is currently a volunteer position, Influential Stars is actively working to grow the platform with the long term aim of creating paid roles. Badger Trust celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2026. We are the leading voice for badgers in England and Wales, dedicated to promoting and enhancing the welfare, conservation, and protection of badgers, their setts, and their habitats. 

We have a network of over 50 local voluntary badger groups, growing all the time, supported by thousands of dedicated supporters and followers. 

We are now seeking new Trustees to join our Board.  These will support the current Trustees and Chief Executive in delivering the charity's objectives, ensuring we have the right mix of skills, experience, and people to achieve even more for badgers in the coming years. 

For these vacancies, Badger Trust is particularly interested in people with experience in charity fundraising, law, and development planning to help us achieve our goals in these areas, building on our research, citizen science, and campaigning work. 

Your skills 

Trustees with a focus on fundraising will have a strategic approach to opportunities, and might offer support through one or more of the following methods: 

- Identifying and reaching out to major donors and corporate partners 

- Assisting in writing bids for grants and trust applications 

- Offering guidance in planning and executing fundraising strategies and campaigns. 

We encourage members of badger groups to apply to ensure the group network is effectively represented. 

We are seeking applicants whose professional knowledge will bring value to our Board. 

You should be a strong strategic thinker, capable of working collaboratively, and willing to engage with the broader role of Trustee. Badger Trust values diversity and aims to broaden our Board in terms of skills, background, and life experience.

Time Commitment 

The Board typically holds four to six meetings each year on Saturdays. Most of these meetings are conducted online, with two in-person meetings scheduled annually. However, there may be occasions when virtual meetings are necessary outside of the regular schedule. 

We also conduct an Annual General Meeting (AGM) or Symposium, which Trustees are expected to attend and support. The head office is located in Brighton, but in-person meetings are

generally held in central England. The 2026 Badger Trust Symposium is being held at the University of Northampton. 

In addition to routine Board activities, past and present Trustees have contributed to various initiatives and assisted with staff-led projects based on their skills, expertise, and interests. Examples of this work include assisting the creation of  our planning and development guide, updating the guide to badger rescue and rehabilitation, engaging with Government and Parliament on the Planning & Infrastructure Bill, scrutinising Government policy and commissioning information searches, taking legal action, and assisting in the recruitment and interviewing of specialised staff.

Job Description

We are looking for a Volunteer Marketing Automation Specialist to help build and manage the CIC’s digital systems that connect campaigns, content, and community engagement.

You will design and maintain automated workflows, supporter journeys, and tools that help people take meaningful action while respecting trauma-informed and safeguarding principles. This role works closely with the Digital Marketing Director and Marketing team to ensure digital systems are secure, ethical, and effective.

The role focuses on marketing automation, workflow design, and improving supporter experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain automated workflows connecting email, forms, CRM, and campaigns
• Build supporter journeys for volunteering, fundraising, membership, and engagement
• Develop logic-based workflows (triggers, segmentation, conditional pathways)
• Integrate digital platforms and ensure smooth, GDPR-compliant operations
• Monitor performance, optimise systems, and document processes clearly
• Work with campaign teams and copywriters to align messaging and automation
• Identify inefficiencies, propose improvements, and flag potential risks

What We’re Looking For

• Experience or interest in CRM, marketing automation, or workflow design
• Understanding of digital funnels, supporter journeys, and performance metrics
• Ability to design structured, logic-based workflows and troubleshoot systems
• Comfort working within safeguarding, GDPR, and ethical frameworks

As an Adventure Ambassador, you will act as the face of Adventures for Animals on our UK and overseas trips. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine your passion for travel with your commitment to animal welfare, while inspiring others to take part in meaningful challenges. Your primary focus will be on promoting trips, building community engagement, supporting fundraising and delivering an exceptional participant experience before and during each adventure.

Key Responsibilities

Promote Inspiring Adventures

• Generate interest and excitement through social media, community outreach, and personal networks.
• Encourage registrations, and later fundraising, by sharing the purpose and impact of Adventures for Animals and the work of IAPWA.

Host and Represent on Trips

• Act as the official Adventure Ambassador on each trip, representing Adventures for Animals and IAPWA.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive group environment.
• Support participants throughout the journey to help ensure a smooth and memorable experience.

Incentives and Rewards

• Once a trip reaches an agreed capacity, you will secure a free place on the expedition.
• At the next agreed benchmark, you will receive free return flights for the adventure.
• At full capacity, you will also then receive a generous trip allowance.

Represent the Mission

• Embody the values and mission of the charity.
• Share insight into the charity’s work and inspire participants to support animal welfare initiatives.
• Strengthen the sense of community and shared purpose across each adventure.

Team Collaboration

• Attend monthly team meetings with fellow Adventure Ambassadors.
• Share insights, feedback, and ideas to support programme growth and fundraising best practice.
• Optionally organise UK-based hikes or local events to promote upcoming trips and engage the community.

A little over three years ago we successfully opened our brand new venue in Elephant & Castle, making us a two building, three venue, London fringe powerhouse. We present and host over 40 main house theatre productions per year alongside a busy community participation programme.

We are looking for up to 3 people to join our board of trustees and be part of our ongoing development and evolution. Ensuring that we remain ambitious but also resilient going forwards.

Plans include: building and developing the staff team; introducing a fundraising and development strategy; enhancing our profile and marketing offer; and developing our own in-house programme of work.

We are also looking to the longer-term and the potential development of a new theatre in London Bridge.

Becoming a trustee of Southwark Playhouse will introduce you to a range of people and activities not found elsewhere. You will take up a position within an organisation that has broad impact and delivers engaging, joyful and thought-provoking experiences. You will witness first hand the life changing impact that engagement with arts and culture can have on individuals and communities and we hope that you will be proud to govern an organisation that has such a positive and powerful legacy.

Trustees are the guardians of our purpose - as a trustee you will have oversight of the strategic direction of Southwark Playhouse and contribute to creative discussions about our aims and mission, ensuring that we remain a vital and relevant cultural asset for Southwark, the Capital and beyond.

As a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, you will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with our governing documents, charity law and other laws that apply to our organisation.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking to recruit up to 3 new Trustees to the Board.

We’re looking for passionate and committed individuals who love theatre and the arts, believe in the work that we do, and who want to play a part in our next chapter of growth and development. You do not need to have been a Trustee before or have previous Board experience.

Whilst we’d like to hear from applicants from a range of backgrounds and experiences, we are particularly keen to hear from those with skills in any of the following areas:

• Marketing / Communications
• Legal: Employment Law / Contract Law
• Fundraising / Development
• Finance / Accountancy
• Creative strategy / Production

The general attributes we’re looking for in potential Trustees include:

• Good, independent judgement.
• An ability to think creatively and strategically.
• An ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.
• Effective interpersonal skills, and a willingness to act as an ambassador for Southwark Playhouse.
• An active commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
• An ability to command trust and respect.
• An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties and responsibilities of being a Trustee.
• A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort required.

EXPECTATIONS

What we ask of you:

• To serve an initial term of 3 years.
• To attend 4 x 2-hour Board Meetings a year.
• To attend 1 x 1-hour AGM per year (often appended to a board meeting as above)
• Attend an annual Away Day.
• To attend and at times host Southwark Playhouse receptions, events, opening nights and other engagements.
• To sit on a Board Sub Committee as required and appropriate.
• To provide specialist advice and expertise as required and appropriate.
• To advocate and champion Southwark Playhouse’s work, values, ambition and strategic direction.

In total, Trustees usually commit the equivalent of 6-7 days per annum to their role.

Please note that Trustee roles are voluntary and therefore unpaid, however reasonable out-ofpocket expenses can be covered.

• Community Connectors - Collaborating with the Community Engagement Manager to establish a local network, promote SSAFA's services, and respond to community opportunities such as gardening projects.
• Fundraising Heroes - Whether it’s rallying local businesses, organising events, or getting creative with unique fundraising ideas, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping SSAFA’s support going strong.
• Administrators - Are you detail-oriented and love keeping things organised? Assist with branch and event administration, manage schedules and branch calendars, and ensure everything runs smoothly currently being undertaken.

The skills you need

• Be friendly and approachable.
• Confident to engage with the public, potential clients, volunteers and SSAFA colleagues face-to-face.
• Reliable attitude, staying connected with your Branch and/or Community Engagement Manager about your availability.
• Access to public transport or a car to get to events if necessary.
• Basic IT skills would be an advantage.
