About us
Care4Calais is a volunteer-based charity providing essential aid and support for refugees in France and the UK.
In northern France we operate year-round from Calais, providing warm clothing, bedding, food and assistance to refugees who live in appalling and dangerous conditions.
Across the UK we collect and distribute clothes, shoes, mobile phones and other essential items, as well as offering social support and interaction, including language lessons, sport and music workshops. We also help with vital access to legal, medical and educational services.
Our Legal Access Department is an access to justice project that exists to arrange critical legal representation for people seeking asylum and, more than this, to support people through the hostility and difficulty of claiming asylum. The department, made up mostly of volunteers, works tirelessly to ensure that people feel informed, empowered, and less alone.
The Role
In this busy, hands-on role, you’ll gain an understanding of how the UK asylum system works, enabling us to provide the highest standards of service to those who need us most. Your work will focus on maintaining accurate records, following clear processes, and delivering high-quality support to every one of our vulnerable clients.
This will include working with individuals in UK Immigratin Removal Centres. As a Detention Team Volunteer Caseworker, you’ll be speaking to clients impacted by the government’s “one in, one out” policy. You will be taking them through our client questionnaire to gather information important for their referral to legal support.
This role requires a commitment of 10 hours per week distributed across the week to ensure that our clients receive the best possible service. Your volunteering hours can be adapted to fit your schedule.
We’re looking for people with a genuine passion for human rights and refugee protection. If that’s you, please get in touch. This is a fantastic opportunity to help people seeking safety to access the legal support they deserve.
Responsibilities include:
To apply please provide a covering letter outlining why you want to volunteer for this role, and why you think you would be suitable. This should be a minimum of 100 words. Please note that applications without a cover letter will not be considered and that AI generated cover letters are discouraged.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
Preferable Criteria:
Lived Experience Inclusion:
We are an anti-racist organisation and a proud member of the Experts by Experience Employment Network (EBE), which aims to create a charitable sector led by individuals with lived experience of the asylum system.
As part of our membership, we are dedicated to creating inclusive employment practices that recognise and accommodate the unique circumstances and strengths of people with lived experience. We actively move away from a one-size-fits-all approach, ensuring our recruitment processes are fair, supportive, and accessible.
We warmly encourage applicants with lived experience to make use of the guidance and resources available on the EBE website (ebeemployment)
In addition, applicants with lived experience are welcome to connect with the EBE support team for tailored assistance with completing the application form and, where available, one-to-one interview preparation.
Importantly, we recognise the significant cultural, linguistic, and experiential insights that individuals with lived experience of the UK asylum system bring to this role. As such, all applicants from this background who meet the essential criteria will be automatically shortlisted and invited to interview.

Learning & Development Lead – VOLUNTEER ROLE
Remote | Approx. 4 hours per week | MINDSET Charity (UK)
Transforming men’s mental wellbeing through action, challenge, and real‑world connection
MINDSET is building a new kind of men’s mental wellbeing and personal growth movement in the UK — one that speaks the language men actually respond to: doing, belonging, challenge, and shared purpose. We’re not clinical. We’re not corporate. We’re not another “sit in a circle and talk about your feelings” model. We create experiences that help men grow, connect, and rebuild confidence from the inside out.
And now, we’re looking for a Learning & Development Lead to shape the knowledge, skills, and growth pathways that will power this national movement.
Why This Role Matters
Every programme we run — every breakthrough moment, every challenge completed, every man who reconnects with his confidence — depends on one thing: meaningful learning experiences.
Your work will shape how our volunteers, coaches, and programme participants learn, grow, and develop. You’ll be the architect behind the training, resources, and development frameworks that help our people thrive.
This is a founding role. You will build the learning culture and infrastructure that will support men across the UK for years to come.
What You’ll Lead
As our Learning & Development Lead, you will:
Design and build MINDSET’s learning and development framework from the ground up
Create simple, engaging training pathways for volunteers, coaches, and programme facilitators
Develop resources, guides, and learning materials that support confidence, clarity, and growth
Shape a learning culture rooted in belonging, purpose, and real‑world action
Work closely with programme leads to understand training needs and build solutions
Support the development of future programmes, challenges, and wellbeing experiences
Help build a movement that changes the way men experience personal growth in this country
This role is remote, flexible, and designed for someone who wants to make a real impact in just a few hours each week.
Who This Role Is Perfect For
You’ll thrive in this role if you are:
Someone who loves designing learning experiences that actually work in the real world
Organised, creative, and able to turn ideas into simple, practical training materials
Passionate about men’s wellbeing, personal growth, and community
Excited by the idea of shaping a national movement from its earliest days
A believer that learning should feel empowering, not overwhelming
You do not need charity experience. You do need heart, initiative, and a desire to help men live fuller, healthier lives.
What You’ll Be Part Of
MINDSET is creating a new narrative for men in the UK — one built on strength, connection, and growth. Your work will directly support the delivery of programmes such as:
Our 12‑week Self‑Improvement Programme
Our Life Coaching Programme
Future activity‑based wellbeing programmes and challenges
You’ll be helping to build a movement that gives men the tools, confidence, and community they’ve been missing.
If you want to help build something bold, needed, and genuinely life‑changing…
We’d love to hear from you. Join us and help shape the learning culture at the heart of MINDSET.
To empower men across England to take charge of their mental wellbeing and personal growth through connection, conversation, and community.

About Us
Influential Stars is a purpose driven platform connecting creators, supporters, and causes through exclusive experiences and campaigns that raise funds for UK charitable organisations. We are a growing team committed to delivering meaningful impact through professionally managed experiences.
Our Story
Influential Stars was founded by Lisa Connell, who is living with an inoperable brain tumour and has spent many years raising awareness and support for UK causes. The platform was created from a deeply personal belief that influence, connection, and community can be powerful forces for good when brought together in the right way.
Volunteers play a vital role in helping turn that vision into real world impact, enabling experiences that raise funds, create joy for winners, and support charitable organisations across the UK.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced, highly organised, and proactive Volunteer Events Coordinator to manage activity experiences awarded to campaign winners and support the development of new partnerships.
This is a key operational role ensuring experiences run smoothly from planning through to completion, while also helping to secure activity sponsors for monthly charitable campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage activity bookings for campaign winners through partner providers
Liaise directly with creators and winners to arrange meet and greet experiences
Collect availability from winners for experiences booked on their behalf
Confirm bookings, manage logistics, and communicate details clearly to all parties
Send reminders and follow ups to ensure experiences proceed as planned
Support post event engagement, including encouraging appropriate social sharing
Build and maintain strong relationships with activity providers
Proactively identify, approach, and secure activity providers willing to sponsor experiences for monthly charitable prize draws (ideally one per month)
Assist in developing long term partnerships with activity sponsors and collaborators
Organise security arrangements when required through approved security partners
Maintain accurate records of bookings, communications, and outcomes using our CRM management system. Experience using a CRM or similar database is required. We currently use HubSpot, which would be advantageous, although not essential as training will be provided.
Skills and Experience Required
Essential:
Proven experience in event coordination, event management, or a similar role
Excellent customer service skills
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Proactive, resourceful, and confident in outreach and relationship building
Professional, reliable, and solution focused
Desirable:
Experience securing sponsorships or partnerships
Experience working remotely within a team
Interest in charitable or social impact work
Based in London or Hertfordshire for occasional in person meetings (not essential)
Working Arrangement
Fully remote position
Flexible working hours with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week
No travel required. However, if you choose to meet with potential or existing partners in person, reasonable travel costs will be covered where possible.
Occasional (optional) in person team meetings
Why Volunteer With Us
Play a key role in delivering meaningful experiences that support UK causes
Gain valuable experience in events coordination and partnership development
Join a mission driven organisation at an exciting stage of growth
Flexible volunteering that can fit around other commitments
Opportunity to build professional relationships across the charity, creator, and events sectors
Although this is currently a volunteer position, Influential Stars is actively working to grow the platform with the long term aim of creating paid roles. While we are unable to provide a timeframe and future opportunities will depend on the organisation’s growth and incoming work, this role offers the chance to be part of that journey from an early stage.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
