Job description

We're looking for a motivated and proactive warehouse shift leader to support the day‑to‑day running of our warehouse operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can lead by example, drive performance, and ensure that warehouse activities are carried out safely, accurately and efficiently.

Please note that the shift pattern for this role will be 13:30/14:00 to 21:00/21:30 and is likely to include shifts across all seven days of the week. Training will take place during day shifts.

Key duties & responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and support a team to achieve operational targets.
  • Manage people, processes and warehouse systems to ensure smooth running of daily activities.
  • Identify, analyse, and resolve operational problems, liaising effectively with warehouse colleagues and other departments.
  • Promote a culture of high performance, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee warehouse processes including receipt of goods, stock storage, inventory control, order picking, packing, and despatch.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and security procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow warehouse and general administrative procedures.
  • Uphold diversity and inclusion principles in day‑to‑day leadership and interactions.

What we're looking for

A confident and organised leader who enjoys working with people and improving ways of working. You’ll thrive in a busy warehouse environment and be committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety and customer service.

If you’re driven, hands‑on, and ready for the next step in your warehouse career, we’d love to hear from you.

About Girlguiding

Girlguiding is the UK’s largest youth organisation dedicated completely to girls. We’re over 300,000 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers, who come together to laugh, learn, explore and have adventures, in communities across the UK and virtually. We're almost 80,000 volunteers who make guiding happen by giving time, talent and enthusiasm. Girls can do anything. We’re a powerful collective voice – with girls, led by girls – changing the world for the better.

Girlguiding values the differences that a diverse workforce brings and is committed to inclusivity, and to employing and supporting a diverse workforce. We are proud to work with a number of organisations who support us to create and maintain a culture that celebrates diversity and champions inclusion in the workplace. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

We’re committed though to supporting our staff to achieve a good work-life balance and offer flexible working options wherever we reasonably can. All staff are required to carry out our online health and safety training and complete a DSE risk assessment to ensure we can provide the support you require.

We strive to ensure our recruitment processes are accessible to everyone. If you would like to receive any information in a different way or would like support in helping you to apply, please get in touch with us
